I know this is a real old thread but this gave me an idea that worked with my flossy nub nub shift knob. -stock knob is 220.5 grams -flossy nub nub shift knob is 346 grams and sits about 1/2...

When I installed my TWM shift knob I noticed that the ring that was in the boot from the factory was too big. So I set out to find a solution. I didn't have to look far as I had a 2 liter...

Couldn't you just have them send you the right samich plate and hoses? Then if you go FI later you've got the parts for it already.

You are correct, no fluid loss + no pedal = bad Master Cylinder. They both have same OEM ORing lifetime, I guess.
