Hi, I sent you a message last night, was just wondering if you got it. Seems I've had a little trouble with my messages lately.

    How you doing?

In my case a "no compromises car" is the kind of car I've always wanted but couldn't afford or justify due to family considerations. Carroll Shelby's Cobra and GT350 factory was 15 minutes from my house, my buddies and I would visit the showroom near LAX and just stand there dreaming of owning one of his cars. In '66 a 427 Cobra, at $6,500.00, was $1,000.00 more than a 427 Corvette and twice that of a HiPo 289 Mustang.

I've owned many interesting cars, 65 Mustang coupe, 65 Sunbeam Tiger, 66 Mustang 2+2, 85 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z, 90 eagle Talon Turbo AWD, 99 Camaro SS and a 2004 GTO but in every case they were a compromise between what I wanted and what I could afford and what I had to have for work or family.

The Z is the closest I've ever come to that high school dream of Cobra ownership, having my dream car with out compromise, a "no compromises car".

Can you elaborate on that a bit? What is a no compromises car?

I've had several fun cars over the years but the Z is the closest I've had to a "no compromises" car.

You might have a laugh at this since you are about my age. ( I am 66) The man across the street about mid 30s or so... has been looking at my car since I got it. Yesterday he came over and asked "How young does that car make you feel? I told him that when I was behind the wheel on an open highway I felt like I was 50 all over again!!

Sounds really nice, we were 74 and clear today. PCH is a great drive. We went to Yosemite last May, it was terrific, and the road into the park was made for the Z, great scenery, very twisty and with a high speed limit.

    California beckons you.

Have been enjoying the car for the first time since I bought it.. The weather is nice.. about 43 degrees and clear skies! Doesnt get much better than that!
Best of all the car is quiet...not like a Mercedes sedan but quiet enough to really enjoy it and not have my ears constantly assaulted!

How you been? I really wish I could drive to Cal and ride that Pacific coast highway again! I am sure there are plenty of good open roads..

Snow? I got your snow right here! Only in the mountains and almost never below 3000'. In my 62 years no white Christmas.
