I can feel that I can turn into corners faster now without having to hit the gas to deliberately kick the back out...
I can make a 90 degree no gas on at a good 10-15 mpg quicker

More than likely the taps just went through. If you still have the light being functional except the brake this explains it. The wire for the brakes is cut but the power to the rear tails are...
