I make the bulbs myself. You can find the triple Luxeons here:
Cool White Luxeon Rebel Tri-Star LEDs

I got the cheapest one at 480 lm, and it's already bright enough to light up the garage across the street!

Great idea where did you get your bulbs? That is one drawback I have with the cam, at night the reverse lights don't really light up the place so the image is dark unless I tap on the brake. It's a cheaper camera but works great in daylight.

Thank you. You're the first I've seen to implement that idea. The mounting options for the r-cam bugged me for a long time, so I never put one in. It sounds like another fun little project. Have you swapped out the reverse lights yet? I'm using triple Luxeon LEDs per bulb, and it's nuts at night. I'm sure it might help or overwelm the camera at night

I didn't know what that center piece was for either but it looked out of place so I put the cam in there to make it look like it belonged on the bumper. The cam works great in that position it's been on for about a year and no issues whatsoever.

Saw your pix of the rear camera mount. What a great idea! I always wondered what that center piece is, but that is definitely a nice spot for the camera. How's it holding up?
