Don't press the clutch pedal all the way down, only use the top 50% of it, I too had been driving manual cars for a million years and could not get used to the Z, I now think it is one of the best...

My 2014 has a much easier-to-manage clutch than my 2011 did. Those 1-2 shifts are far smoother than on the previous car. Many have recommended changing the helper spring to a little softer spring...
