Was she mowing your part of the lawn? My brother had an issue where the neighbors dog keep crapping in his yard. He asked a few times that they don't let the dog do that. It continued to happen....

Either way, it was not your fault what occured. So whatever happens make sure you dont go out of pocket - being new car / exchange or trade in for another etc.
