That's the problem with these types of dogs. They kill other dogs. We have pretty well banned them here in Australia and have severely restricted them As for cutting part of their ears of for looks is discraceful.

Since you have them banned I guess you have never been around pit bulls to know how loving, devoted, and what great dogs they are (with people and other dogs). I have had multiple bully breeds and never had a problem. Google APBF, one of my friends is the founder. I'm not huge on cropped ears myself but these are beautiful dogs.
