No JDM kit; might opt for a fog light if some aftermarket vendor here does it correctly, as we actually have situations where it will be used where we travel. No exhaust as we reside in a private community and having been on the board of directors I will catch heat for the added exhaust (although I would not mind adding an exhaust system). There are already two Lamborghinis in the community that members are sick of hearing. Flex joints also help prevent drone; also, a rigid-bodied material can induce fatigue to other parts, although not its own. Sorry, I am not a vendor here nor do I intend to be—no products to sell.

I think it's great to have the aftermarket vendors here in Southern California supplying products, and look forward to watching the development of Borla's 370z exhaust. All the SoCal vendors on this forum are really exceptional in their customer interface.

My questions was directed to your personal 370Z.

JDM kit? Center fog required? I believe US prefer sans this especially on a light-colored Z where there's no function of the lamp. Best to you and your company.

Many vehicles have flex couplers where issues of customer concerns in vibration or product failure may occur. I presume FMEA results warrant the use of flex couplers with lower grade exhaust materials for average use within mfg warranty.
I'm no expert but I do know exhausts are exposed in a harsh environment and we use a durable material in austinetic stainless steel. This material is more rigid and tougher to bend. The acoustic properties are much different than OE exhaust material. I believe all this factors into our decision to omit flex couplers in this design. I wouldn't expect all mfg to use this material as the cost are to high for mass production.

What do want to know? If you are looking at my avatar that is a shot of the Branew aero kit, including their rims, on one of their cars they took on the show circuit and used to advertise the kit. Ours is pearl white, AT, Sport Touring; no nav. Added (so far): factory illuminated door sills, splash guards, trunk carpet, cargo net.

Regarding aftermarket, I tend to lean to the Japanese manufacturers as I am past exec for a major Japanese corporation with experience on how they function and their mindset. So my question regarding the flex coupling is one of experience in that the Japanese have engineered the coupling as an integral component for a reason that I am sure is substantiated with a mountain of paperwork; you even find the coupling in their NISMO series. The Japanese are a close-net society and there is no question that certain Japanese aftermarket vendors are privy to Nissan engineering information that others simply will never see.

    Tell me about your Z?
