Polk audio speaker magnets busted, upgrading to the Polk MM series

NewYorkJon34 11-27-2011 12:25 AM

Updates: I switched my speakers to Polk's Top of the line MM series due to a cracked magnet on the Polk DB series that I had before. Sound is much better than before.

Second: I started my own photography business "Ultimat3 Photography"

And this is a teaser shot from my past photoshoot, for those that saw my last shoot, you can def tell my skills have improved:

Car has been experiencing unknown electrical problems during start-up, it's currently at Nissan getting diagnosed for the next 2 days. Will post update from what they find.

Footloose301 12-05-2011 08:54 AM

That blows

NewYorkJon34 12-05-2011 01:53 PM

Ya, it just randomly didn't want to start 2 nights ago, took 3 times for it to start. So far I was told the battery needed to be charged more, but I'm thinking it could be something else. Car is still at Ft.myers Nissan.

Footloose301 12-05-2011 03:18 PM

IPDM..... Same problem with my Titan a few years back. Countless people spent insane amounts of money at Nissan replacing "faulty" fuel pumps and ecu's and such only to find that $116 IPDM was the culprit. It took me no longer than 5min to replace. I'm not sure if the Z has the same type unit but hopefully they find the issue the first time. Luckily my researching online lead me to courtesy parts for the IPDM and I swapped that out before towing it to Nissan.

Ipdm?

^this.

But, I'm not saying this is the issue. Just something to look at.

Footloose301 12-05-2011 08:56 PM

"CrownR426" had similar issues. It happened to be the IPDM and Steering Lock Relay....

It's a common issue with newer vehicles and seems to be more common with Nissans. The Titans had a recall for them.

NewYorkJon34 12-05-2011 10:41 PM

Idk, it was perfect after getting the new battery, then randomly 2 nights ago it took three times to start

NewYorkJon34 12-07-2011 06:03 PM

UPDATE:
Well got the car back today, when the service manager when to bring the car around for me it wouldn't start right, so I'm glad he was able to see what it was doing. Apprently we came to the conclusion that the "new" battery they gave ne a month ago had a "bad cell". I received a new battery & had my ecu reset & what a difference! Syncro-rev has been giving me little problems when downshifting into second where at lower speeds it would "buck" atiny bit. Well with the new battery/reset everything feels soo smooth almost if the car was brand new of the lot.

$hit happens sometimes, just glad it wasn't anything major, but didn't think it would be as everything on the car is top notch. Thanks soo much again to everyone at Sutherlin Nissan in ft.myers, FL.

That is definitely a relief, funny how something so small can affect the car so much. After seeing so many "dealer not being able to reproduce customer complaint" posts, it's nice to know it worked out for you!

Footloose301 12-08-2011 07:59 AM

I hope that was truly it and not something that's going to continue to come and go.

NewYorkJon34 12-22-2011 11:18 PM

Pretty much done modding the Z for now as I have a new goal in my life:

Wow had not seen this car in ages! Looking good. My friend just traded his Z for a BOSS 302...likes it, but says its nowhere as good in the turns. Fast though, drove it around for a bit. Loads of torque.

NewYorkJon34 10-15-2012 01:04 AM

Yep still have the Z, almost to 40,000 miles. I'm gonna trade it in soon, just waiting for the 2014 Gt500 order banks to open up. I got to ride in my friend's 2013 gt500 and it's an awesome car to say the least, the live rear axel is very controlled. Sure the Z obviously handles better but I never have time to go to the track anyway.

What's new with you, Did you get a new car yet? Last time we talked I think you were interested in a BMW.

Mr&Mrs 10-15-2012 02:03 AM

I sent you a PM

Not yet, thinking about keeping the Z and turning it into a business promo car. Oh I'm ALWAYS after an e92 M3 :) Just haven't found one for the right price yet.

Mine is only at 27k miles still hehe. I was on the verge of trading it in as well, its starting to make some new noises now too and the warranty is about to expire so I'm really tempted to carmax it and build on something newer.

Still a bit undecided.

NewYorkJon34 12-20-2012 11:30 PM

Ordered a 2014 Gt500 which should be delivered around march-April, it will be sad to get rid of the Z, but the Shelby is a great car as well. I'll still be apart of this forum helping others where I can + I'll be doing a small part-out soon.

ts-c63 12-21-2012 12:12 AM

Ill be on the look out for your part out.. Can you send me a pm on a few of the things you plan on parting out? Thank you and congrats on the Shelby

Footloose301 12-21-2012 07:56 AM
