So long weekend again working on the G. Much appreciation to Chuck and Nathan for all their assistance, really couldn't have done it without y'all. Also extremely thankful the GF was supportive and willing to put up with me these past two weeks while the only thing on my mind was successfully moving the G into the BP club. I've got to say that I'm extremely happy with the way everything turned out. Took the car out for a few pre-boost data logs to make sure that there was nothing abnormal going on. There are a few issues I'm having with this base map that I need to discuss with Sasha but they are all driveabililty and have nothing to do with full throttle romping of the car. After we confirmed that there were no serious issue Chuck and I decided it was time to feed the G a little boost and see what it happens. So we set out with Chuck in the passenger seat with UpRev up and logging. After a little minor boost and everything checking out Chuck tells me he's ready to see a full gear pull. This thing pulls hard and it's on WG pressure and really rich. Turbo lag is almost non-existant and boost threshold is really good for a turbo this large!

As I said been a long weekend. Happy Easter to everyone and I'll try and update the thread with weekend work tomorrow.

Off to install my mirror tap for my Passport as I removed the hardwire to make room for the gauges. Really going to need that radar detector now that I'm boosted.

Congrats!!!! and welcome to the club:tup:

So weekend #2 work recap. Going in we needed to accomplish the following - Tap IM, Injectors, Plugs, Fuel Pump, Charge Pipes, Electrical (Fuel Pump, Exa Pump, Boost Controller, AFR Gauge and GReddy Multi-Gauge), Vacuum Hose Plumbing, a bunch of heat management, upload base map, double check everything and press start button.

Most of Thursday night was spent trying to layout wiring and vacuum routing so not really any good pictures to post.

Here's Chuck contemplating

Since I live in Texas and we hardly ever see freezing temps, we went ahead and removed the TB Coolant lines and capped them. Here's the pile.

Installing Charge Pipes

Driver Side WG. You can see that I color coded the vacuum lines so there would be no question is it was supposed to be lower or upper port. Blue is directly from charge pipe and black is from boost controller. Don't worry I went back and covered the vacuum lines but left it like that for final checkout to make sure everything was connected properly.

Rest of Heat Management on Vacuum Lines

Instead of messing with the firewall grommit we decided to use a marine cable clam and punch our own hole through the FW.

Not the clearest picture but here's the 12V switched and 12V constant tie in supporting all gauges

Boost Controller

Used the AL bracket to support the boost controller solenoid valve. Really stout.

Strut bar replacement. Really don't understand why the G doesn't come with one from the factory. Of course now that I'm boosted, I don't know why Nissan didn't just give us this car boosted in the first place.

My Ghetto zip tie solution until Mr. Gale sends me serial number 001 for a G of his bad@ss pillars

Me relieved that she started up on the first crank!

Thanks man. To be honest I'm not exactly sure since I haven't had anyone in the passenger seat to watch gauge and rpms I'd be shocked if it's anything higher than 2500rpms.

Lag is almost nonexistent like something ridiculous 3-400rpms.

I'll know more when I get it tuned. It should improve boost threshold.

Appreciate you helping me out yesterday. It cleaned up a lot as I ran it. Still having some issues but nothing like those first couple test runs

SMKYTXN 04-21-2014 10:11 AM

The build turned out really nice John. Can't wait to see what a real tune will do for it.

You don't know how relieved I was when you hit the start button and all the electrical components fired up like they were supposed too.

Hell, I was just relieved it started and ran. This was by far the most ambitious project I've ever tackled. :rofl2:

Me too. A few squeaks and rattles aside and a minor tune issues everything went as expected.
