So weekend #2 work recap. Going in we needed to accomplish the following - Tap IM, Injectors, Plugs, Fuel Pump, Charge Pipes, Electrical (Fuel Pump, Exa Pump, Boost Controller, AFR Gauge and GReddy Multi-Gauge), Vacuum Hose Plumbing, a bunch of heat management, upload base map, double check everything and press start button.
Most of Thursday night was spent trying to layout wiring and vacuum routing so not really any good pictures to post. Here's Chuck contemplating http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...ps23464a2c.jpg Intake Manifold Removed http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...pse5295338.jpg Spark Plug Swap http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...ps392f3135.jpg Fuel Rail Out http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5dcfdbfe.jpg Intake Manifold Prep for Tapping http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...ps86485e94.jpg Nathan Tapping the Manifold http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...ps67a42c07.jpg Since I live in Texas and we hardly ever see freezing temps, we went ahead and removed the TB Coolant lines and capped them. Here's the pile. http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...ps692542b6.jpg Fuel Pump Swap http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0b755d06.jpg Fuel Pump Swapped http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...psd097be4b.jpg Installing Charge Pipes http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...psd4db5fb5.jpg Driver Side WG. You can see that I color coded the vacuum lines so there would be no question is it was supposed to be lower or upper port. Blue is directly from charge pipe and black is from boost controller. Don't worry I went back and covered the vacuum lines but left it like that for final checkout to make sure everything was connected properly. http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...ps16944997.jpg Rest of Heat Management on Vacuum Lines http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2be719bb.jpg Intermediate Heat Management Process. http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...ps86be18d3.jpg Turbo Bag http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...ps20582943.jpg |
For the remainder...mostly the electrical work.

Really don't understand why the G doesn't come with one from the factory. Of course now that I'm boosted, I don't know why Nissan didn't just give us this car boosted in the first place. http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...psa38fe2de.jpg My Ghetto zip tie solution until Mr. Gale sends me serial number 001 for a G of his bad@ss pillars http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...pse2467eb3.jpg Me relieved that she started up on the first crank! http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...psbea7787c.jpg And done...What clean a engine bay. http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...ps545adbdf.jpg |

Congrats man, glad to hear it went smoothly. What's your boost threshold?

Lag is almost nonexistent like something ridiculous 3-400rpms. I'll know more when I get it tuned. It should improve boost threshold. |
Awesome looks great! U bring her out to nismo fiesta this next weekend? Going to be a monstrous event! I think nissan is bringin a caravan from tennessee to show off the new nismo GTR as well. Would be nice to see more G's there! And ur is very clean! Good job

The build turned out really nice John. Can't wait to see what a real tune will do for it.
You don't know how relieved I was when you hit the start button and all the electrical components fired up like they were supposed too. |
