this clutch ordeal is really gonna hurt my budget... actually... its gonna kill my top secret front bar budget....

since they have to seperate my tranny im thinking of eliminating every possible weak link so ill be installing a new master as well.... and since my car is gonna go in for a clutch job ill be putting a new clutch, lightened flywheel as well  and while im in this mess imma just put in a order for the short shifter from twm as well... imma kill as much things as i can while my car is down... realistically.... my car will be down for at least 2 months :( unless i can hustle the money faster.... kinda sucks because i just finished sending payment for titan cans and brackets... the oil cap money will be reimbursed to me.... that money would have definitely have helped this situation :(

Hey Simota1.... did you paint the red lip around your wheels or did you use pinstripe tape? If you used tape... then what kind of tape was it if you don't mind me asking.

Damn Simota, sorry to hear about your luck man. I'm guessing that's not something you have the means to do yourself? It would save you a crap load of money. It really sucks that our CSC's are made of freakin plastic. Who's idea was that? It's wise of you to just put the rest of the parts on while you're at it, it's gonna be taken apart anyway... Hope it all works out for you man!

this kinda project is definitely outa my league man .... if the slave was outside our trannys... then no problem i can do that... but since i gotta seperate the tranny :( thats a massive job.... and one that im not willing to do.... all in all after getting the qoutes i know how much ill be spending... this is the breakdown

$1400

HD CSC
JWT CLUTCH
SOUTHBEND FORGED STEEL FLYWHEEL
TWM SHORT SHIFTER
MASTER CYLINDER
MOTUL FLUIDS

$80 to tow my car to my friends shop

$800 for labor

grand total $2280 :( this sucks balls so much... im just tryna not think of it to much yet... im debating wether i put in some unorthodox pulleys also crank and alternator since im in this mess....

whoever designed our CSC and made it plastic should get fired :shakes head:

Yeah I feel ya on that one, I changed out the CSC on my 99 S10 back in the day. It was way more difficult than it should have been because it was dropped 3" and the guy that had it before me hadn't cut the driveshaft, so it was jammed into the rear diff. When I finally got it off bits and pieces or my gears fell out of the housing. I had to replace the whole rear end, cut and balance the driveshaft, and THEN do the CSC. Major PITA.

still havent fully decided on the clutch combo... everyone says southbend.... but ive never really heard of southbend and thats why im not yet sold..... anyone wanna fill me in?

GaleForce 02-23-2013 07:45 AM

I went with Southbend. I bought mine from Joe at Z-Speed. Highly recommended! Top notch customer service. Excellent shipping. I told Joe what my projected horsepower and torque numbers were and we put together a package to suit my needs.

Once again, highly recommended.
