alright fellas.....

i just ordered the GTR clear dome light mods thanks to our member rhood for the vital info....

also... the gt spec brace is a mod coming REAL soon

one last payment to type one and its all mine

i got a big surprise for everyone this tuesday.....

i wont say nothing because i dont wanna jinx myself.....

the surprise isnt like WOW but its a good big mod for me that ive always wanted and wish my z came with it to begin with....

How much of a difference did the deadening mat make to the car? I have a 10' Sport Touring and can't believe how much road noise it has coming from the rear tires. Would be nice to quiet it up a bit.

the mat i would say made like a 60-70% difference... if you were to get the 80mil that gt mat sells and maybe stack them... you wouldnt hear anymore road noise...

so this is how it went down...

overall i would rate the success rate of this swap to be a 95% me and my buddy dropped off our cars in the morn around 8. I inspected all the calipers and they were all pristine... no scratches at all

My friend was able to finish both cars by 4... he even changed the brake fluid

on both cars... that was nice of him to do.... i paid my buddy about $700 and another $427 on the labor which i thought wasnt too bad considering the amount of work that had to be done.... he threw in the sport enkei

made my day

now here was the sh!tty part..... before i picked up my z... i did a walk around.... everything was good.... no scratches or any damage... THEN i did a walk around on the brakes... and holey sh!t it felt like someone stabbed me in the back and twisted it.... the front passenger caliper had a big scratch...to make things worst it was on the "nissan" i felt like crap after i saw that.... i was crying inside lmao..... now since i know the guy who worked on my z.... even if i said take your time..... i know he wanted to get both z's outa there..... it looks like he tried to mount the rim and missed

and scratched the caliper... i felt bad since im really close to him and i couldnt get mad

plus i know people make mistakes when your tired so i let it go...

drove home bad tripping the whole time... thinking to myself damn now i gotta get a passenger BBK caliper... FML....

i parked my z and felt horrible, so i decided to try and fix it... i decided to buff it out... i spent 2 long hours working some mild rubbing compound to even the surface up with a mothers power cone you guys will never guess what

it worked.... the scratch is still there but its more blended it... not like it use to be 3 lines going down..... ran a nice wax on it and it came out beautiful...

you cant tell unless your like 3 inches away from the caliper... i was so relieved

i also painted the hats of the rotors so they are a nice satin black instead of rust color lol.... i still gotta paint the rear and im good to go

needa just shoot rattle can on the rear rotors.. they are rust color

but the weather here sucks i think there are like 3 storms lingering in the area... one past already and another one is close by... i hope nothing hits home....
