Are the canards specifically for amuse rear bumper? How did it fit on your shine auto?

Woo Hoo...Shine Auto Amuse FRP w/carbon fiber accent front bumper delivered today! Going to test fit today and hopefully get it to paint this week or next. Time to order some more mesh:

Quick test fit. Fits very well. Needed some trimming on the inside because of my oil cooler. They also have about a 4"x4" opening for the drain plug, but with my adapter plate and larger filter, I'll have to make a larger opening. The FRP cuts like butter. I also have to move my HID fogs in a bit to clear the opening.

Well, many of you know there's an issue with the hole in the skid plate being too small to change oil (unless you want to remove bumper every time). The hole is just large enough to get to the plug, but not the filter. I hadn't seen any pics of what it looked like so I decided to snap a few for reference. After I made the hole larger, I test fit the bumper and the hole was perfect size to drain oil and replace filter with my thermo plate.

Re-positioned the HID fogs and Plasti-Dipped the front (so you won't see what's behind the mesh that will be there after paint)

I had no way to get bumper to paint shop in Mesa (other side of the world), so I drove it there:

Ready for the long ride home :driving:

Perfect time to clean the air filters and do an oil change :)

Measured & masked off. I also had a towel covering the engine underneath:

A couple of pilot holes and then the cutting begins:

Test fitting:

I sealed and ran a tight bead of body color filler around edge since fitment in the rear is actually not very good. Doesn't completely sit flush back there:

Bumper still needs to be color sanded (to give the color some depth) since didn't have time prior to install:

Quick pics...

Decided to leave the EVO-R emblem off of the front to give a cleaner/stealth look and since I don't have any chrome up front versus the rear.

Shine Auto body parts finish & fitment were spot on! Body shop didn't have to do any adjusting or use any filler. Highly recommended kit

Kit had plenty of flex without the worry of breaking. Front and rear slid right in to position and all of the bolt holes lined up very nicely.

:iagree:

You're so right...:bowrofl:

The Zed is pretty quick for what it is and for the once a week drive to work and the grocery store...

I had a SC Toyota that I sold last December and decided no more boosted cars. It was a hassle keeping it dialed in, especially in the summer... :(

Very cool. That is the nice thing about UpRev is that you get 5 maps. I have one for hot weather and the car preformed well when I was in Phoenix the fist of July when temps were above 115*.

Very true about the UpRev. On the Toy, it was a pain to dial in and re-mapping was not easy with the R4 software provided from Underdog Racing for their Split-Second piggy back puter. Winter, the motor was a beast...summer...not so much. Very sluggish. The only other mod I "may" looking into, would be some Berk HFC's and a tune. But, I have to say, I really like how well it responds and sounds.

Hotrodz 08-15-2014 10:21 PM

Yup, I think you will like sound even better with the high flow cats. I guess you are headed to Vegas for Labor weekend. I would head that way but I'm headed to California for the Indy car race. My brother is part of the safety crew so I get a free ride. I will be Phoenix the weekend after labor day for a softball tournament. I will probably bring the car. I want to get my tail lights done by your guy if he is available.

It sounds great now and a bit afraid it may be too loud or have some rasp with the high flow kitties. We usually head to Vegas for our anniversary (which is Sunday), but this year, we're holding out until September 18-21 for the Olympia competition & Expo. My wife is a national figure competitor & judge (not for this show though), so it should be a great time hanging out with all of her hott 'n in-shape friends (such a hassle I know) ;)

Reach out to Ty. He does great work on the tails. He also did my third light to match. I'll be seeing him later this week as he has to color sand my bumper before I have the clear bra installed.

Hotrodz 08-15-2014 11:04 PM

It will be louder and you may get some rasp but hopefully the sound deadening will keep it away. I had Art pipes with short tails....way loud and raspy. I did away the short tails after that and got a aam true dual exhaust. It sounded great.
I will give Ty a call for sure.
I'm afraid for you in Vegas with all that hotness, are you sure you can handle all that horsepower. It's bad juju if you blow a gasket or throw a rod lol. Give me a call if you need some back up!

Im biased, but you cant beat the BP kit for its performance gains, pricing and build quality. It is exactly what the 370z needed to be the complete package!

I say do it!:driving::tup:
