I wrapped the pipes because want to limit the heat expansion from them not to gain some HP or something. I'm thinking about wrapping the headers also but havn't decided yet.

I understand that. I'm wrapping to protect other components (i.e. wires, tubing, etc.), not gained HP. Still just wondering how much header wrap you went through to aid in my purchase. Will 50' take care or it or do I need the 100' roll?

I would choose at least 100'. About that amount we used on the pipes you can see on the pictures.

Cannot wait to start my build...only got the innercooler and pump so far, but the car is still hibernating under it cover anyway..as far as traction from what I read we will have to learn how to control the tq through the throttle, but other than that, mounts and rear diff bushing will help for sure, but too stiff of suspension will have the inverse affect, thus not allowing weight transfer...from my research it seems the toyo 888r in 305s are the best bet for holding the rear.

Unless you own a G and the most rear tire you can fit is 285. I've already done the diff bushing as my OEMs let all the jelly out from inside them. I passed on motor and tranny mounts as I had to stop myself somewhere on the build dollar total.

Awesome. I pretty much figured but wanted to double check with someone that had already done it. Thanks

Got the Z1 mounts on black Friday sale, in the big picture they are a drop in the bucket. I wrote a DIY on them, I highly recommend it.

all of them or just the trans one?

Any Dyno charts of this built engine on 13lbs?

Flipping thru the motor build pictures on the first page, please tell me you did not put that Mishimoto Thermostat in your built motor.

Why? Is that a bad idea somehow? That thermostat has lower temp.

Mishimoto thermostats have a bad habit of either failing closed or coming apart. Either way the motor self destructs.

What Chuck said. My tuner has a pile of Mishimoto failed parts in the corner.

They had PNP version but I bought it from forum member because did not want to make business with them, logo may be removed ;)

Overall, it's a very valuable upgrade.

Boosted Performance 07-20-2015 02:06 PM

NICE!

Do you have a dyno graph on that 680hp and 660ft/tq? I assume this is on E85.

Diabel 07-21-2015 03:17 AM

Sure, here it is. The car is tuned only at 10% ethanol. I think the 6266 turbo is max out at the moment. The only work left to do is VVEL tune to make the torque more flat at higher RPMs. Also maybe there are some gain possibilities in better headers (currently OEMs) and 3-3,5" exhaust (currently 2,5").

Just today I noticed Ecutek released the new software - I think it may be the game changer (VVEL, No lift shift, Flex fuel).

jwick 07-21-2015 08:16 AM

If the bottom axis is truly rpms then why do the HPvsTQ curves not cross at 5250?

Diabel 07-21-2015 08:48 AM

Why do you think it should cross at 5250? Please remember that here in Europe we use Nm instead of ft/tq as a torque unit (left Y axis - blue curve). It was measured on the dyno at 6th gear.

That must be it. In the formula to calculate horsepower from torque, the two must cross at 5252. It must be the different units throwing it off. Also, why 6th gear? I don't think I've ever seen that it's usually 4th or 5th.

Diabel 07-21-2015 09:28 AM

The ultimate cars power/performance measure is the street, so here in Europe we use Racelogic to measure and to compare the cars time in 0-60mph (0-100km/h), 0-125mph (0-200km/h), 60-125mph (100-200km/h), 60-155mph (100-250km/h) :D

Here in Europe?

Location = Bensonville, IL ???

To make sure the traction will be good, on 5th the car slips on the dyno rolls.

The 1.15 a/r turbine is maxed out, but the compressor should have more left in it. If you go with a 1.32 a/r turbine housing and keep the 18psi, there is a very good chance you would get over 700whp. It is the turbine that is choking the system...the 1.32 a/r would flatten out that HP after 6,000rpm, and it would help with the torque. Probably about $300 shipped to you if you choose to go with that.

Sasha, what do you recommend, that 1.32 a/r compressor in 6266 to unchoke it or the new, bigger 6766 turbo? Because after 300usd upgrade the cost of both would be pretty much the same.
