Congrats on the start and drive!

Yeah both rear v-bands are leaking. I loosened everything from the waste gates back to the y-pipe but just couldn't get them to line up flush. They're really close, but off just enough that they leak a little. I put some red rtv on them both and tightened everything down. I'll check it in the morning and see if that did the trick.

Tune is scheduled for Friday!!!

The V-bands are a bit of a pain because the flex couplers are stiff when new, and ther is always slight warping no matter what you do when welding. I have tried to tack weld the V-bands in 8 places before doing a solid weld, but they still warp ever so slightly. You will never hear an exhaust leak though..because the warping is very minimal, invisible to the naked eye.

After a few heat cycles the manual calls for re-tightening things, because it takes a bit of time for everything to "seat". I am assuming you have some condensation leaking, and that is normail at first. It will go away once you drive the car and park it again...may only be present on cold starts.

The most important things is that there are no leaks before the turbo, and on the downpipe where it clamps on to the turbine housing. This would mess with spool, and the wideband reading. That is why I made the modification to the down pipe, so there is no chance of it leaking at the turbo.

If there is anything else I can do/help with...I am only an email away

You are local..I think...and with an A/T. Maybe we need to get together in the spring, to see if there is any way I can make the kit work with the A/T transmission.

Unfortunately, I am not local to you and lives in Petawawa,Ontario (military base). I swapped the 6MT in the Z instead of the 7AT when I did the HR heads swap.

I think I got the exhaust leak sorted with the RTV. Had a nasty rattle that I fixed. Now all that's left is a very subtle rattle that I can barely hear at certain times. Can't replicate it while under the car. Doesn't bother me really but I want to track it down eventually.

Put some miles on the car today. Using dash command to get the boost reading and I don't think it's calculating it accurately. It's saying 12 psi without even hitting full throttle. Either way I'm playing it safe until I get the tune on Friday to see how much boost the car is actually making.

Here's a quick vid of a partial throttle pull. I'll do some proper videos after the tune ;) LOVING the car so far!!!

I tried DashCommand to read boost also...got crazy numbers :P Don't know why it isn't accurate. Kit sounds good man. Almost makes me want to get my open-pipe external wastegates plumbed into the exhaust. Mine is so loud I can't hear the turbo lol.

Are you using a boost controller? You won't hit 12 psi if your only using the wastegate springs.

I think it sounds perfect with the recirculating waste gates. Perfect blend of turbo, exhaust, BOV noises :)

Just running waste gate spring pressure. Should be the 7.25 psi springs but I'm just being cautious until I get the tune. Not going to kill me to wait until Friday ;)

Yeah, you're good to go. Last I heard the base tune was based off of my car when I had Vince at R/T Tuning tune my car. Always a good idea to have it looked at jut to be sure though.

Sounds great bro! Can't wait till your tune!

Sound is pure sex, this kit sounds wayyyy too beautiful recirculated to even think about dumping it. Great job on install, so clean and easy!

Nothing but smiles from the BP pack it seems!

Boosted Performance 12-15-2013 08:26 PM

Congrats on the DIY install. It seems that all the customers that have installed the kit themselves are happy, and did not find the install to be all that difficult. Money saved, and more importantly, you know the kit very well if you install it yourself. This IMO is very important.

It puts a smile on my face when I see customers install these kit on their own....it assures me that I as a manufacturer made the kit simple enough to make this possible.

The car sounds great in the video as well. IMO the combination of the twin scroll kit and the F.I exhaust system is a perfect match. Not too quiet, not too loud, but the other drivers will know something is going on under the hood.
