Just put my order in for a new clutch. The stock clutch is slipping in 3rd gear and up when going full throttle. Wasn't an issue when it was a bit colder since the tires would break loose first. Now that I've got a little more traction, the clutch can't handle it.

I'm shocked it lasted past the dyno tune considering your torque number. 500 miles of break in is going to suck. Primary reason I'm doing the clutch before turbo install.

I know the way I drive it will take me 6 months to put 500 miles on my new clutch. If I ever get around to having it installed. I can't DD it to help either because I drive through really bad roads and scrap truck routes on my way to work. Get nails monthly in my beater.

puckshaw 02-27-2014 07:42 AM

Yeah I'm a bit surprised it held up on the dyno too. 500 miles is going to take me a while too since I only average about 3,000 miles per year lol. I'll start driving it more often but my commute is only 14 miles round trip. So even if I drive it to work it won't add up too quickly :(

jwick 02-27-2014 08:41 AM

Damn...I thought it was going to take me forever to break mine in since I only average about 150 miles a week. Figure I can do some extra weekend driving to cut break in down to two weeks, since I'll be extra motivated (Boost is one hell of a motivator)

Clutch finally arrived today after a long delay. Going in next week :)

That is a long delay. You went with the SZ, right?

Yup. They get the components from RPS and their main builder was having some personal issues. It kept getting pushed out. SZ at least did a great job of keeping me updated on the situation.

Love my SZ, good choice, handles 500+FT lb like it's a joke.

The first 300 miles Will feel rough but it finishes well, has the least pedal pressure for this level of power and is amazingly quiet for its light weight.

I love mine and am begging them to ship something up to support 1000hp down the road. You will love it!

Now that's what I like to hear! Really looking forward to getting this installed and broken in

Any of the puck ones are super rough to start off, not going to lie. Mine is a 6 puck and it was really annoying because my first 3 hours with the car where in traffic lol. But now I don't notice but a tiny bit of chatter low rpms in 1st, push the gas or go to 2nd and boom, smooth as glass.

The street is only smoother, little less grab. But I find the 6 puck perfectly streetable.
