Yeah sounds like an easy fix. I'm just hoping they can squeeze me back in to finish the tune before the holidays.

The stock wiring for the fuel pump uses thin wires. Apparently when you install these upgraded fuel pumps, they have trouble getting the voltage they need through that wiring. The solution is to run some thick gauge wiring straight from the battery through a relay and to the fuel pump basket. Some cars get lucky and get by with the stock wiring.

Yeah seems like it only started becoming an issue towards the end of tuning when they were making more power.

I'm going to get a quote from them this morning when they open up but it looks like a pretty easy DIY. I actually already picked up the parts for about $30. I'm not sure the shop will be able to fit me in so I'll be ready to do it myself if needed.

I am looking at making this relay setup a part of the standard package. The large 340lph that comes with the kit demands more power than the OEM wiring can handle (voltage drops due to small wire and length from OEM relay to fuel pump). With that upgrade the fueling system would never be an issue for those even considering pushing the limits of the stock block.

Guess I should add one during the winter downtime. Just to be on the safe side.

Just finished up installing the relay. Wasn't too bad really. Sasha pointed me to this DIY so I just followed that.

DIY: GTM Fuel Pump Voltage Stabilizer installation

Cost me about $30 in parts. Car runs so I assume that means I did it right lol Hopefully motion lab can squeeze me in on Monday to finish up the tune.

Awesome kit and congrats on the DIY, can't wait to see your final dyno numbers. Really interested in seeing if the kit will fit a G too.

For those running this kit or other high HP builds. What clutch/fly-wheel combo is most recommended for reasonable daily driveability while still holding the torque?
