No dyno yet w/ the mines rom, but soon. In the process of preppin the car for TimeAttack in 2 weeks. We threw the stocker's on there, b/c we wanted a quick fix. The offsets allow a bit more rubber up front and there's a ton of room in the rear w/ no spacer or 5mi. Tires are a little stretched but nothing aggressive by any means. Front to rear stretch ratio is about the same, maybe a little less in the rear but again, nothing aggressive. For now were just going to run the car in the next few track events as is, and dial in from there. Stay tuned for Race/Time Attack updates! Wish us luck =)

Wow! Nice build - just found this thread... I almost went with JIC's too - had a great deal on them but opted for the BC Racing ERs at last minute.
Wonder what you think of JICs after your first track event. Definitely looking forward to hearing what the ECU buys you... when you dyno, perhaps you can run it stock too so we can see the baseline. Which series will you run this car in ? Which clubs ? |

I love the JIC's on our car. We were originally going to try and source a set of Ohlins, JRZ's or Moton's but JIC agreed to customize and build a damper specific to our needs. In the end it was probably the main mod that won the Time Attack for us. Car was rock solid through the entire course. As far as the ECU goes, the car will be headed to the Dyno very soon. Our AE Exhaust is almost complete and we will be running several performance tests. Pre and Post. Were currently just running the car in Redline Time Attack. Goal with this car is to just make a high performance street car that can still get wins on the weekends at the track =) Stay tuned for updates!

sounds good, paul
was originally thinking about JIC's back in March... the shop I was working with had me lined up to be the first customer and as a result they were going to be comp'd... that relationship ended and so did the JIC thing... couldn't be happier with the BC's... will see how they stand up over time, but they have been great so far look forward to your progress |

By the way, when you say the 'gap' between the two brands of coilovers, they are about the same price point so I can only assume you mean the fact that the BC ER series has a few features the JIC's don't right ? I mean there was another 370 out there running pretty good times with the BC's if I'm reading the times correctly!

I did mean in price point but even more so in quality. I'm not knocking BC at all. I've personally had a set on one of my cars and have driven several cars with them and if I had another 10-20k car I'd probably run them again. And your right Mike at DD run's them and has had great success with them and fast laps (I guarantee it's more Mike than the dampers) LOL but by all means you are right sir. For a damper out of "Borah Cheng" "BC" ( a factory in Taiwan) where they also produce Megan racing and a few other budget conscious dampers. There at the top of their class. Just like anything in life you usually get what you pay for and in my personal and professional experience I'd rather steer my customers that are looking for a low price point yet a quality product that equals the quality of the 35k car they just purchased toward a "Entry level" damper from a High end company vs. a damper from a company that only specifies in budget conscious products. At the end of the day it all comes down to what the customer wants to do with the car and what their budget is, and sometimes BC may be the best route to go. (sometimes..lol) but thats a different thread.

Okay, I respect your opinion but we're going to agree to disagree on that one Paul. I spend most of my time in the aerospace industry and have seen a lot of business move to Asia-Pac in recent years, with little/no negative impact on quality. I've also seen a lot of low-price positioned companies rise up successfully. It's a good position to start from, especially in an economic environment where price matters. And if you've been following BC, you'd notice they now have a new factory, $50M capital infusion, new ISO certification, new series of products, and some very public commitments to product quality and service. Seems like a pretty legit business to me. Proof will be on the track, of course. I'm hoping to participate in future Redline TA events in the modified RWD class, so that'll be one more to rack and stack.
