I'm skipping DTM and going with Diamond Hills in Walnut. I'm feeling really good about this team. These guys = perfection.

Finally you got a shop you could trust. Hope everything works well

This?
or this? http://i.pbase.com/g3/70/394770/2/12...9.XQjlC1oB.jpg And This? or this? |
I like the 15/16 bumper. It's more functional, but if you are thinking of an Amuse front bumper then it's a toss up for me, but I'm a Nismo guy though!

Nismo bodykit with amuse spoiler?
(Photo cried to whomever) |
I like both... but my question is... you are going to change the front bumper too? if not buy the Nismo... in my opinion to install the rear Amuse bumper you have change the front bumper too. When my Z was hit from the rear i was searching the new Nismo rear bumper but here on my Island is fcking hard to find parts for our Z :shakes head: soo I Fix the OEM :p

Nismo Conversion
So here is an update.
Dropped her off Feb 1. Diamond Hills ordered parts Tuesday and Wed. Parts included the 2015 Nismo Bumper. Nissan informed Fontana Nissan that it would arrive Tuesday this week. Everything arrived but the rear bumper. Checked with Fontana and they said it is now on backorder. Sideskirts arrived. Front conversion kit on order. No one has it. Backorder. Not fun when your conversion hits some bumps on the road. So the car waits. I am praying for some grace and the remaining parts arrive. In the meantime - with cooltoy's help I came up with the decision to paint the car without the red trim and do this instead............It is not for everyone but I like it.

Are you keeping the type III spoiler Raf? You'd be the first with that combination, I wonder how it would look. And +1 for the white-out whiskers. I also like it in black but white looks clean too.

Oh ya --- big thanks btw! |
All good Raf. I'm glad it worked out for everyone!

Raf, great choice my friend, I'm not a fan of the red accents either. I love the stark and clean contrast of the black and white. You should have them paint your door handles white as well too and then do all your emblems in black. I can't wait to roll with you again when she is done!

Playing softball in St. George, UT that weekend. I might take the Z as there are some nice roads to drive up there!

Went to the shop to inspect the parts that were ordered.
All accounted for. 11 pcs for the front end conversion and two side skirts. No rear bumper yet :shakes head: Common Fontana Nissan, I know you're at the mercy of Nissan but WTH. Rear bumper off, panels off, tail lights off. Rear spats off. See the Fujimura diffuser --- still in good shape. Interested? I worked on the front bumper this AM. Picked up a mesh grill and fabbed up the grills in place of the DRLs. Two layers of mesh from metrostyling.com
Bumper will be painted first and the mesh will be siliconed on the back side. Black sections will be painted Ford smoked quartz - TQ or Acura Graphite Luster NH782M-C. All red Nismo accents will be Pearl White QAB. Hoping to get the bumpers in by next week. Here are some pics. Back side. This is my first attempt. Driver's side. Tacky from the back. Here's the instructions given to my body shop. All parts arrived finally.
Flat black on the top lip of the bumper opening. The rest is dark charcoal grey instead of the traditional black. No red trim. |
Teaser from my painter
He is killing me softly. Shot from the paint booth. I just noticed the rear bumper sat behind the front bumper.

Some progress.
Rear bumper test fitted again after painting. They will start taping for the dark charcoal sections of the kit. Visited the shop today. Not much progress other than taping for the dark sections. Should be done today and cleared once it dries. Fingers crossed - pick up on Saturday.

|
Hmmmm... I'm curious to see this complete... I'm really diggin' the idea of the white accents in place of the red... I think its gonna look B.A.

Tomorrow!!!!!
Received some pics today from the shop. Final touches.
I like how it turned out. What do you think? Front piece extending to the skirt and then to the back. Really subtle yet mean looking. The black mesh worked out as well. I will be washing her when I get it home tomorrow. More adjustment to be made.....I don't like the slight gap on that quarter panel/bumper. Looks great! I agree with you, tidy up the quarter/bumper a bit and you will be back in business
