Thanks! I like the duckbill now that I see it on mine. I wanted to be a little different with the old wing but that post just got to me somehow.

 Very, very creative on your side. Will probably try this with my wheel lock "key". Thanks :tiphat:

Thanks. It's in the gene pool. For the key, great idea.

You'll find these on eBay. It appears perfect but it is larger by 1 mm. It sits within the tapered frame but does not rests on the floor. I have 3 layers of 3M tape and silicone to attach it. I recommend to put 3 layers of tape but drill holes and secure using the supplied bolts. Just use silicone underneath the tray to seal it. I did not do it this way thinking if I had to sell the WeatherTechs it would still be 100% and I can also sell the emblem.

ZOOM Engineering Blue Side View Mirrors - 370Z

Installed my ZOOM Engineering Blue Mirrors

I bought it to battle blind spots and improve my viewing angle. I also like the contrast you get from blue mirrors.
Convex/Blue silvering combo = Increased visibility
Installation -- very easy, my daughter could do this. ZOOM Eng provides you everything you need to install the mirrors. Fitment was spot on.
Result: ZOOM wins
The down side: It is pricey for a pair of mirrors.

The details:

Glass Quality:
When I unpacked the mirrors, I could tell right away the glass quality was top notch. There were no inconsistencies on the surface. There is no distortion on the reflections. The biggest selling point for me is the blue tint. I could not tell how they did it but the reflection is clear.

Mirror Thickness:
About 1/16 - 3/32. I could not tell if the thickness is perfectly consistent all around. I suspect it is not as it is difficult to do this flat let alone on a convex. This shape allow you to see more than the flat surface mirror. I cannot tell if the SoCal summer heat will cause it's shape to change causing distortion, I will let you know if it does.

Mirror Silvering:
The blue coating applied to one side makes this unique and easy to my eyes. It provides the contrast that I need. The quality of the reflection as a result of the coating is top notch.

AeroJacket Type III / Duckbill Spoiler

Installed this at AeroJacket a few weeks back. I traded my old wing in for this spoiler. Not sure why I went with the Type I and not with this right from the start.

Here are some shots --

Took out the old wing. That's 3m tape placed on the old holes. I siliconed it on the other side. The dark spots you see are adhesive seal marks that we took off before installation. I washed the car since and no leaks. The new wing covers it up.

The small strips you see are zip ties attached to the spoiler where the tips land right on the spoiler's holes to mark where new holes will be drilled. Once the wing was in place, the zip ties were transferred by taping it onto the the hatch. We then marked where to drill based on where the tips landed. Neat trick.

ZOOM Engineering Blue Side View Mirrors - 370Z

Regarding these mirrors. I am still not used to the convex. I found out today that objects in mirror are way closer than they appear. I got the finger from a female driver after a visit to AeroJacket today. My signals were on so I could change lanes, she knew I was getting in, but I know she floored it to keep me from getting into her lane. Not sure that mashing her gas pedal did anything for her other than pissed her off.

It takes about a week to get used to the convexness. (Or that's about how long it took for me.) Now lane changes are easier than ever before. (I also have the Craftsquares)

axmea? 06-29-2014 10:47 PM

I must say that convex image processing and translating to relative distance after looking at your flat rear view mirror image takes some getting used to.
Despite this -- I have never felt so confident with dealing with my blind spots. The angle you get from these things are incredible.

axmea? 07-13-2014 02:31 AM

Washed her today and took some shots after. So I just did the nose finisher, the Zoom Engineering blue mirrors, and the duckbill spoiler. I will have the headlights done by paperboy next week. Black housing, white shrouds, dual Mirimoto halo's, and STi clear lenses. While the bumper is out, I will clean my air filters.

Blue mirrors are great. Now I'm used to it. You have a much better view and the angle you get is incredible. The image on the mirror is closer than they appear. I practiced by parking next to my other car and moved forward in increments and then stepping out to see where it is at. This established a reference point for me.

6MT-Z34 07-16-2014 09:11 AM

Cool! Does the heard mirror feature still work? This is something I'm thinking of but I would like to keep that feature since I live in the north east

axmea? 07-16-2014 11:11 AM

Sorry, you can't have it all. The heated feature goes away. The blue mirrors sit on top of the OEM mirrors. I get why you would want the heated mirrors though. Ganador makes a full replacement and it is motorized but I'm not sure if the heated feature works.

Shadezz 07-17-2014 03:48 PM

Wouldn't the heat still somewhat heat the attached mirrors? Just a thought...

Took my car to paperboy for the headlight mod

Part 1 -- July 18 install. Work done by George at GY Custom Lighting aka paperboy.

RetrofitSource STi-R Clear Lenses - Headlights and signal lights.
Top and bottom Morimoto XB Angel Eyes.
Black housing
White Shroud

The STi-R clear lenses provide brighter, clearer, and sharper output than the stock lenses. This is a great mod in itself. The angel eyes however makes it way better and enhances the set. While the black housing and white shroud ads personality. It gives the car a great look.

He was painting in another area aka his paint booth so to speak :) but I covered the car anyway for good measure.

Headlight work mod 2

Part 2 -- July 18 install. Work done by George at GY Custom Lighting aka paperboy. I would recommend him if you decide to mod your headlights. BTW, he is working on a Tesla! He is that good.

RetrofitSource STi-R Clear Lenses - Headlights and signal lights.
Top and bottom Morimoto XB Angel Eyes.

I washed my air filters while the bumper was off. Worked out great 'cause I do not like taking the bumpers off this car. Too low and a little tight for me mounting on the fenders.

It works!

Both sides installed. Yes I brought my own ramps. Always in the car.

Finished finally.

I really like how it came out. Headlight is more pronounced and does a better job at night. Tested on my way home and what a difference the lenses make. Not to mention the nice looking angel eyes.

axmea? 07-19-2014 08:24 AM

Thanks. Do you mind being a little bit more specific and explain why he should not use the FX35 lenses. If your saying using the infiniti fx35 lens, no it was not used. If your saying because of the heat generated by the projectors, he put a metal plate on the housing floor to hold the temps. I noticed a square metal plate right in front of the lenses and asked him why it was there. I'm not sure if all projectors generate the same amount of heat.
