I could easily destroy a sheet metal splitter on the track and road as much as the way I have done mine. So think about the cost difference. Hundred or so dollars every time or 30 bucks.

Yeah your right with that. I've never really fiber-glassed anything so don't know what that process entails but I'd imagine it would take a lot longer than cutting out sheet metal and painting it black, no?

It would take around the same time. Fiberglass doesnt take long to cure if you use a bit more of hardner. 2 hours, sand it smooth, paint and install it the next day. Mine took a bit longer because I've been busy

I wanted mike to powder coat mine yellow so he sent me a picture of a set after a couple track days, they were trashed. That is why mine are black with yellow logos.

Oh well.. No loss for me. 6 bucks for that vht engine paint (supposedly 650* resistance). If that paint doesn't hold up after the first track day, I'll strip it down and paint it black

Haven't done autocross in over a year but woke up this morning and just said, "Eh why not. Zdayz preparation!"
Don't be fooled by the STR class... I know I am supposed to be in SSM or similar. Class qualifications didn't really matter. Pretty much a practice day for tomorrow which I won't be able to attend. Halfway through the day the staff told me my car was too loud and couldn't run anymore. Woops.

Cool, where's that at, I see a few Zs out there. In Tampa I'm the only 370Z and sometimes there's a 350Z.

Alright my friends gather around around for my the insanity that has occurred to me at zdayz this year.
So Wednesday afternoon we arrive. Get on the Dragon and everything is so perfect. Car handled tremendously. Thursday morning I go out for a Dragon run but I hear almost an explosion type of noise. Car starts driving funky on Hellbender and I thought it was my diff. Pull off and my inner sidewall is torn off due to an angled nail. 4 hours on the lodge phone talking to tire rack later and I get my road hazard protection set and the tire overnighted. Later in the evening my buddy lends me his rear wheels so that I can do a Dragon run. Everything is all good until I fuel starve around a corner. Try to correct the fuel tank but nothing. Turned it around and went downhill into a left hander. Attempted to start the car and nothing. For 2 hours in sleep in the car waiting for help and when it comes... We diagnose that my fuel pump was not working. We didn't pull it out but decided to get a friend's trailer up the Dragon to put it up and transport it back. 11PM and we made it back. I asked Jon at Z1 if a staff member can bring me a Walbro 255 and I'll buy it. Friday morning we go to the tire shop where it was supposed to be guaranteed, scheduled delivery at 10:30AM. 2:00PM and the tire finally arrives. Great thanks ********. We go back to the car to check on the pump only to realize that it's not the pump itself... But the top hat of the basket snapped off.. And the power wire to the pump also did. So now great.. How the hell are we going to fix it? Well I guess we should go back into robinsville for some JB weld for those support rods.. Maybe that will work? Yeah it held okay. Until it broke back off.. So great.. We extended the power cable, tied a string between the bottom assembly and the top hat to make sure those pump cables weren't having weight pulled by the fuel pump. We put the pump back in on Saturday night. Car started yay! But this won't last long. Any aggressive turns and pulls will probably disconnect that wire again. Back on my buddy's trailer it goes back to Florida. His car is taking a trip with Forged for a motor build and he was very generous to bring my car back home. On Friday night I spoke with Chris Forsberg and Dylan and MAMotosports and they took a 370 tank from their MB street car drift car (whatever) and they cut in in half and kept the fuel pump side. Built a billet bracket for the bottom of the tank where the bottom of the pump assembly can slide into and be sandwiched by the top plate. So that there is no movement of the basket and they won't have any fuel starve issues having a single 8 gallon side with a fuel pump. They have this one sitting around because they switched to a fuel cell but they offered to give it to me for free. Coolest guys ever. They will be in Orlando for FD in a couple of weeks so they are loading it with them and giving it to me there. Long story short my Zdayz was absolute hell but I still had a ton of fun. My car needs a whole lot more money to her it Right again but I have a whole game plan. I will take some photos of the pump basket when I get back home so that you guys can see this. Because I think I am the first to have this ever happen. Am I hitting higher G's than anyone else that tracks this car? I doubt it... But this is the strangest thing I have seen.
