Under clearshield: no problem! Looks like new. ![]() Outside of clearshield: wtf, did something oxidize? It doesn't reflect, it SCATTERS LIGHT. ![]() ![]() Don't mind the blemish, I got that off. ![]() You can see where the clearshield ended and the roof got...oxidized?? ![]() I haven't read the paint defect thread much, so I'll have to look at that for a bit...but anybody have any ideas? On a more positive note, baseline dyno today before I get to Tony's for installation! Last edited by phelan; 08-28-2009 at 09:04 AM. |

An automotive painter I know told me when I had part of my car painted that I had to wait 90 days to put wax on my car because the paint has to release something for a while. Cant remember what he said it was being released from the paint since it was so long ago, but he showed me on a car what it looked like, and it looks a lot like what is wrong with your paint. I know wax and clear bra are obviously not the same lol, but it should have the same effect holding in the chemicals being diminished out of the paint over time. So I cant say anything 100% about it, but it looks VERY similar to what I seen on a car that was waxed to early from being painted. Oh and thanks for popping my cherry on this forum ![]() |

^ i heard a little something about that too, but the clear bra surface was the one that was protected, and the open one was the one that was messed up. it's really strange, and nobody has yet to come up with a good explanation of wtf happened. it's okay though, i'm working on a solution...
