- Side note on the VW it had R-comp tires, Stoptech calipers, and coil overs. Not your ordinary VW Golf.

====Lap Times================================================

- South VW = 1:43.11
- Full Track VW = 2:56.4

I bought the rotors from a vendor, see here.

And the rears don't NEED to be replaced, even for track duty. So these would be 2-piece ONLY on the front.

...not to mention that they don't make a 2-piece rotor for the rear yet, but i'm sure there's plenty of douche kabobs lining up to buy "decorative performance".

Because i think it's funny as hell: Winning Thread

The reason you would want rear would be for the weight reduction. It's like putting lighter wheels on the car! :ughdance:

But $400.00 for 10 lbs savings ? I'd say go ahead and save that for some track days !!! :driving:

Meh....people spend near 10x that for a set of wheels and not much more weight reduction. I'm just saying it's not really a douche mod of your serious about track time. People spend more on flywheels too.

Me...I'd get some one piece slotted rear to be vein. Don't care about the weight when you look this damn good! Lol! 😜

Sean we must educate you on speed. Any reduction in rotating mass is good. 10 less lbs of rotating mass is good, and even more important to some one looking for tenths of a second ;)

Exactly! :) 10lbs of rotating mass is actually quite significant for $400 especially on the power axle

This i know... i was referring to the braking differences i believe.

And Meulen... it doesn't matter if the driven wheels are lighter... 4 of them have to spin :p Unless of course your car ONLY drives on a dyno :eekdance:

Seriously though... I you remove mass from the front it has the same affect as removing the from the rear rotating mass. Just because the fronts aren't powered doens't mean they dont' have to spin upon acceleration. :icon23:

osbornsm 11-04-2013 08:24 AM

Okay the Z has been winterized.
- 18" OEM wheels w/ Blizzaks
- Wrapped oil cooler with header wrap
- Swapped out 2 piece rotors for OEM

The Z is now a drift machine with 245 winters on the rear... wheeeeeeee

Hah, that's true... i think the prices are more of a reminder for me if / when i decide to sell parts. I can look up how much i paid for them in the first place.

That's me just over thinking

How not to get your car tuned

- 10/16 - Purchased tune for car
- 10/24 - Submitted tune to John
- 11/9 - Receive first e-mail from John which states:
Quote:

Everything gets processed in the order that it comes in, this means if I have 5 orders before you, they get done first.

Making posts online or contacting other people including EcuTek does not make this process any faster, it sometimes makes it take longer because more of my time will be spent trying to explain my self than actually working on all the tunes I have line up.
Oh i'm sorry, did Customer Service getting in the way of DOING YOUR JOB? :shakes head:

- 11/13 - No tune file (today is day 20)
- 11/14 - CC company informs me they have contacted the vendor.
- 11/15 - He apparently does read his e-mail. And consequently my access to their server has been shut off.

But again, no communication.
"We just fixed, the glitch..."
:gtfo2:

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

p.s. You would not have had to "explain" your poor cusomer service to ECUTEK if you replied to my e-mail in the first place.

Rusty 11-13-2015 03:09 PM

:shakes head: That's why I have been shying away from him. One man show, who is out on a branch. EcuTek may be great. But when this happens. It drags it down. :(
