Guamspyd3r's JOURNAL ^_^

Hi everyone :hello:
This is going to be my first journal I've ever made for one of my cars.
I've had a '99 eclipse with a wide-body kaminari kit, '08 G37s with an IPL kit and now my '10 370Z w/sport.
As you can see I LOVE IMPORTS, the Mitsubishi evolution is one of my dream cars and I am still determined to own one along side my 370Z, the 350Z was what made me want a Z and I was determined and now I have one :)

I had my G37s for about 2 years and modded her and was still modding her to my liking , I wasn't done with her build mainly because I WANTED a Z since i first saw/heard a 350Z but i did get this far with my G37s

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps2004f267.jpg
and one with simota1 :)
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...psb0d681e4.jpg
(I should of removed my coilovers and used it on my Z but stupid me wasn't thinking and too excited about getting the Z)

After the 2 years of owning my G I had my fair share of fun with her, and one day I saw a used 2010 370z w/sports 6MT at the dealer and just felt like test driving her:driving:. The next day I went up to the dealer and test drove the Z. I felt COMPLETE :icon17:, I knew i had to have this car...so I did all the paperwork got the loan and drove home my NEW-TO-ME 370Z...after having her for 2 months there is NO DISAPPOINTMENT with my purchase....

enough talk here are some stock photos i found of her
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...psed6486cd.jpg
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps720895ce.jpg

after a couple of weeks of having my Z i could not resist a good deal on a exhaust from simota1, here she is with the Greddy spectrum elite exhaust
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps18cf8dbf.jpg
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps218b4e14.jpg

here is a pic of my volks (i just got my lugnuts a couple days ago, so i will install them once work is not so demanding :)
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps6828247e.jpg
-PLEASE EXCUSE ALL MY CRAPPY IPHONE PICS-

I purchased a few more mods but cant find the pictures right now :(

I've had my Z for a little over 2 months, so not much mods are done but i hope to be up there with you guys in the future :)

mod list:
-VOLK TE37
(f)19x9.5
(r)19x10.5
-Fujimura front lip FRP
-MUTEKI super tuner lug nuts (black)
-Greddy spectrum Elite Exhaust

-Tomei Oil Cap
-Zstore Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps

simota1 06-07-2013 03:13 PM

glad you made a journal buddy!!!!

guamspyd3r 06-07-2013 05:25 PM

Thanks Jon...just figured I minus well keep track on the progress of my car :)

Voice59 06-07-2013 05:54 PM

Very nice man. Simota's build is truly inspiring. I'd say you were pretty lucky in the simple fact that you can just observe what he's doing in person and spin off of it a little. And you're G looks sick as hell. Good work.

Thank you :), yeah simota has one of the sickest builds I've seen...I'm hoping i can be up there with him one day, but shipping from Japan is ridiculous to guam, I was quoted 150,000 yen from UPS and 90,000 yen by ship for my parts in Japan , Jon is trying to help me with the same way he's bringing in his hood, no turning back now lol:tup:

Voice59 06-07-2013 08:14 PM

Good luck on your build with all those shipping costs. Geesh!

guamspyd3r 06-08-2013 06:04 AM

a little update:
I finally got the mount for the zoom engineering Monaco mirror today and mounted it  ,thanks to simota1 and Daytona racing...the mirror is an awesome piece, super-de-duper light, and the view in the mirror is awesome also.

the install was pretty easy and straight forward(after Jon explained it lol) the directions are in Japanese, i guess taking Japanese 3 in school didn't really help

Well i did the install when it was getting kind of dark so here are the pics i took, i guess ill take better ones in the morning
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps494f2cc2.jpg
I didn't expect it but the mount is made of metal and pretty strong
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps5fec4d5b.jpg
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...psa9a6d526.jpg
you can see a small portion of my never ending project eclipse in the last picture :)

the mirror is a great JDM piece

GaleForce 06-08-2013 07:17 AM

simota1 06-08-2013 08:39 AM

the mirror looks good bro!!!! ;)

guamspyd3r 06-09-2013 08:32 AM

for the love of JDM :)

A little update:
GOOD NEWS:
I just sent payment for my small parts in japan to be shipped to me
should be here within the week(or so im told) im excited right now :excited:

SORT OF BAD NEWS:
After calling so many freight forwarders and shipping companies, all of their prices cost more than what I paidd for my front lip ( my thought was always :gtfo2:), but jon is trying to help me bring in my lip so we will find out the guestimated cost for the shipping for my FUJIMURA LIP :happydance:

ok, i got the pictures of my front lip a couple days ago but forgot to upload it,
i purchased a FUJIMURA front lip out in japan, the price was awesome so i couldn't say no, i had a friend of mine purchase the lip and he currently has it in his shop...and now the lip is waiting to be shipped to its new home :excited:

my plan is to go for a full fujimura lip, sides, spoiler, and rear diffuser....for now ;)

well off to the pictures of the lip :tiphat:
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps6c04b97e.jpg
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...psdf806612.jpg
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps3bcf3869.jpg

the other small parts i ordered were kind of an impulse buy, i saw it and said wow no one really has them so i went ahead and grabbed them...

well enjoy the little update pictures i got...i will post the pictures once i receive the rest of the items :tiphat:

guamspyd3r 06-11-2013 07:42 AM

need your guys opinion

k guys.....I'm planning on getting a set of coil-overs and want to stay JDM as much as i can...I've found a good set of Largus expression coil-overs in japan and was wondering if anyone knows if this is a good brand? has anyone tried it or knows someone with them? i basically just want to know if there good coil-overs.:hello:

I'm in a debate of either the Largus expression coil-overs, HKS hiper-max3, or the BLITZ ZZ-R...

can anyone give me a review of any of these coil-overs if you had/have them or know anyone who does? your opinion is greatly appreciated

Well here is a picture of the LARGUS coil-overs that I'm thinking of getting
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...psf2f5c863.jpg

thanks for your time :)

Jasonle 06-11-2013 08:00 AM

Very nice journal man!

guamspyd3r 06-14-2013 08:38 PM

well guys I've been researching the Largus coil-overs, couldn't find much about their 370z coil-overs but the 240 guys seem to like their sway bars...I guess if I don't find a review on their coil-overs I will either be the first one here to try it or I might go another route

I also just got word my shift knob and oil cap just left Fukuoka,Japan and should be here by Tuesday hopefully but still having a hard time shipping my Fujimura lip to Guam(hope i can bring these in soon )

crossing my fingers i get my lip in soon

guamspyd3r 06-20-2013 03:00 AM

small update

well got some good news....my Tomei parts came in :excited:

only thing that sucks is I can't install these because I'm still at work :shakes head: but I'll get the installed pics up later

The Tomei Oil Cap feels good and solid...quality is awesome and it looks like their forged piston which i think is hella cool, as for the shift knob, I got the short version instead of the long ,mainly because my friend in japan told me the shorter one will be better so i listened :ughdance: I will find out once I install them.

well off to some of the pics

I love seeing Japanese instructions (in my head it all translates to BADD *** lol)
but yeah
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps0c0e1410.jpg

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps361b51a7.jpg
the oil cap looks/ feels real good
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps707d9235.jpg

I just wish Tomei made actual performance parts for the Z34 :shakes head:

As for the fujimura lip...Finally found a company to ship it to Guam and now we're trying to get all the shipping info correct and get it shipped to its rightful owner :yum:

GaleForce 06-20-2013 07:06 AM

thanks yo, I planned on putting the oil cap but forgot the password:JDM oil cap wrench in my tool box at work (one of those FML moments)

I did get the shift knob installed...for some reason the OEM knob did not put up a fight when i removed it (lucky I guess)
I like the way the knob feels compared to stock, maybe its just because it's a aftermarket part and its all in my head but that's good enough for me.

my friend was right the shorter version looks good for the Z34 and I'm thinking of getting a short shifter next, any recommendations ? TWM, B&M or any other brands?

well heres some pictures i took of the knob: please excuse the crappy iphone pics and dust :)

guamspyd3r 06-29-2013 10:01 PM

Well my lip is finally en route to Guam from Japan(its on its way to Kobe, japan to be shipped), can't wait for that to get here :excited:.

But for the mean time I was doing my monthly cleaning on the wheel wells for the Z and noticed my front tires are wearing out(time to buy new front tires)
:shakes head: well they lasted long enough OEM tires up to 30,000+ miles is pretty good.

So since I need to buy new tires and spent my money on shipping I decided to finally slap on the TE37 on the Z.

Right away I noticed there is a big difference in weight between the sport rays and the VOLK TE37, I would think that since the sport rays are forged and what not they would be at least around the same weight as the TE but nope :shakes head:

I like the gun metal color on the Volks with my Z, I guess next thing to get are some coilovers(still debating on which to get)

Well here are some pictures please excuse the iphone pictures and my Z needs a wash badly :(

well heres the worn front tire...very dirty cause where I have to park at my moms house
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps7b662dfd.jpg
and here are the volks on my Z
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps26ecc2e9.jpg
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps231abade.jpg
anyone know where i can get those Flat type centercaps for 19" volk TE37 in gunmetal?

GaleForce 06-29-2013 10:04 PM

Maybe some carbon fiber side blades and rear diffuser will go good with the rims...and a good 2" drop will set it off just right , I HOPE SO 'CAUSE THAT'S MY PLAN

JC671 06-30-2013 06:18 PM

guamspyd3r 07-31-2013 06:43 AM

Fuji

Wow it's been a month since I updated? Well life has been kicking me in the arse recently, from work to getting my daughter ready for school (I guess it's time to invest in a Louisville bat for the future).

But I was able to get my fujimura lip in from Japan :driving:,and might I say shipping is RIDICULOUS, but the design is beautiful and the fitment was well worth it, It just popped right in with no issues and held itself up with no bolts and 3m tape, I only did a fitment check to see if fujimura lives up to its rep and  it sure does.

I will be having a coworker of mine paint it maybe by next week and final install after that or when I get the rest of the fujimura parts in, I've been emailing them about prices, wait time and shipping and the language barrier is a little tough to overcome but where getting somewhere.

Enough of talk and onto pictures :)
A little Japanese always eases the mind
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...psce8771ec.jpg

Here are two pics I was able to take and I just popped it into place and man was I HAPPY :happydance:
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps56cdeece.jpg
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps474e3733.jpg

Please excuses iPhone picture taking skills and the dirt, the Z is in dire need of a shower.

I'll update when the rest of my parts come in ^_^

What are you looking for? The tomei oil cap?
The cap is gorgeous and so far I haven't really seen others run it on a Z34, most of the R32-R34 guys run them but I got it because of how sexy it is ^_^
