Headlight Mod Attempt #1:
So this didn't go all that well but we did have fun. MKG's headlights came out great. The rest of us? Not so much. http://i.imgur.com/XwkhdjXl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Tvlspx3l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/xtcZGqxl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/lrHJN8cl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/3MvhG7al.jpg http://i.imgur.com/XMptFS6l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/XC5Gpvrl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/xD9TCxml.jpg |
Not pictured: Giant melty spot on passenger headlight. Heat damage to driver's side housing as well. End result: $750 for a pair of salvage headlights off of ebay (mostly just for the housings) and a couple valuable lessons learned:
-Use a heat gun. Do not put your headlights in an oven unless you have a very large oven. If your headlights get too close to the heating element, they will melt. -Be patient when opening your lights for the first time. Go SLOW. The corners of your headlights are extremely fragile and will chip and warp due to heat very easily. Pay special attention to the front points (closest to the nose of the car) and the "boomerang" area> |
I would imagine there is a solution for the brake duct, there might be some extra cutting required. My only question is will there be a loss of airflow versus how they are ran now?

I'm thinking I may have to get a longer duct tube on the driver's side and get creative with its location once the IC goes in.

Kit is being built. Estimated delivery: 2-3 weeks from last Fri.

haha thanks for the offer.
Moore auto will be doing the install and tune. I will be hanging around their shop all day "helping". I'm sure you'd be welcome to stop by but I doubt they'd be cool with a bunch of us idiots standing around drinking beer. |
So next question for those of you playing along:
After read MKG's thread - How concerned do I have to be about thermal wrap? I sprung for the thermal coating for the supercharger itself. What else do I need to do? |
You must always zone out cooling.
|
I wouldn't worry to much about thermal wrap I don't have any on mine and as you can see my numbers mine doesn't suffer at all.:tiphat:
