Hmm interesting, didn't know the bung extension will let you avoid CEL on even test pipes. Might have to check out my options

I would change in a second if there is no issues.....:ugh2:

I have ART pipes w/ non-res FI CF exhaust. Sounds great -- it's loud though. NO CEL or anything.

What brad test pipes do you think your going with? I know FI makes great long tube headers. you can always hit 2 birds with 1 stone in that sense.

I was gonna go with those if i wasn't boosting mine later

actually just saw your boosting as well lol! nice!!!

IMO no point in getting LTH if you plan on boosting the Z, the LTH will have to come out no matter what kit you go with. Plus the LTH are expensive so going with HFC or TP are your best bang for your buck to hold you over until boost!

I have FI HFC right now. But i do know i will gain more power with test pipes.
LTH would not be worth it for me. They are pretty expensive & not easy to install.
I do plan next year or so to go boost. At least that's the plan for now, for the future;)

LMBmikez now that is hilarious and very true haha...

luciano13 I have not had any lag on the throttle and no cel lights either due to the bung on the test pipes...

Awesome... BTW I have to tune my car when i install the Test Pipes? My only mods are AFE Pro Dry S Drop In Filters and Custom Axle Back. If i tune it will be later but not at the moment when i install the TP

Not necessary to tune after getting test pipes but a tune is a good investment :) I have a few things to do before I tune my own Z.

Test pipes = tune 100%
You're changing the entire dynamics of the exhaust flow vs stock cats.
Test pipes = more fuel needed.
Also u will gain lots of power vs most likely losing power.(which was losing power after.my installs)

eventually im going to get a tune... but not at the same moment at the install... Here in PR the Owners of 370z's we are fcktup in terms of tune... not so much tuner of this cars in my area :shakes head:

Taylortoons 02-13-2015 02:49 PM

I added the FI test pipes without a tune and noticed an instant improvement in power/torque across the band. Will get tuned soon, but first I want to add a couple of mods (Z1 intake manifold/headers).

U sure it just wasn't your exhaust screaming louder:rolleyes:
I was running approx 20% lean after my mods.... Meaning i had more power than stock, however, I needed more fuel for full potential power;)

Luciano, what tips do you have on your exhaust? Carbon signal quad tips? Do you know what the tip diameter is?

It is CS quad. Inlet is 2-1/4" I.D. with tips being 3.5" & 4" O.D.
