damn bro!!! want to see that red plasti dip hahaa!!! im planing to do that with other rims ;)

NickTurnon 03-03-2014 09:50 AM

My ghetto Brembo's were flaking and I am not sure why. When I originally painted them red, I didnt think I'd need to use a clear coat or anything. But apparently rocks and other crap nick's the brake calipers.. Anyways, here is the before and after. I spent $10 on a can of High Temp Chrome Paint & some primer & Clear coat -

Front base brakes, with old red caliper paint:

Rear base brakes with old red caliper paint with much less damage...

After the chrome paint - Looks different!

I didnt want that CANDY RED in my engine bay. I wanted a more subtle Blood Red... So i took 4 cans of RED DIP & Added half a can of black. Created a custom blood red wheel. Here you go carlitos:

I also dipped my turn signals my custom red.

mrthomr 03-03-2014 09:56 AM

Love it.

pfdaxe 03-03-2014 10:24 AM

Looks clean 'n different Nick. Ever think about upgrading brakes & wheels?

All the time.

carlitos_370z 03-03-2014 12:27 PM

Damn Nick looks awesome dude!!!! nice work!!!

Haboob 03-03-2014 12:35 PM

I need to have my calipers re-powder coated. I chipped one putting a wheel on (small chip), plus I don't want red anymore... but I'm ordering wheels today instead, I think.

Nick do the cops in AZ bother you much with your blacked out rear lights? And what did you use to them?

Edited: Nvm, just saw your video, Plasti Dip them....

Cops here won't bother you with tinted tails. There are a lot of vehicles with them. As long as the light is visible from 500' there's not an issue. I've never had an issue with mine...

NickTurnon 03-04-2014 02:57 PM

Yeah, Seth - I originally used dip. Then switched it up.. Follow my DIY if you'd like.
http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...aillights.html

And pfdaxe is right.. Cops out here really just get pissed off with the cars that black them out so much that there is barely any light coming thru. Also i've found that much less people have issues when you leave the reverse light instead of blacking out the entire light.

But look at my DIY and find my new tails...http://s18.postimg.org/kq1eobw89/370z_Lights_on_2_1.jpg

Attempted to go in for an alignment today...

Unfortunately that front lip sits too low and the alignment lasers cant work properly.

Thats a bummer. Only option is to remove the front lip, do the alignment, and then put it back on after and hope none of the dip gets ruined or pulled off..

Damn Lip! lol

Nick:

Not sure where you go, but I take all of my vehicles to Network Alignment on N. Cave Creek Rd just north of Cactus. They do all kinds of lowered and lifted rides. They do great work and never an issue

Here's their info:

Network Alignment & Brakes

Marti 03-07-2014 09:38 AM

That's very odd...front lip has nothing to do with being able to align a car...leave that shop quick!

NickTurnon 03-07-2014 09:54 AM

I went to Network Alignment off Cave Creek Rd...

They said they didnt have an issue getting it on the lift. They said they had an issue with the laser being able to go all the way under the side of the car.

I was so confused - He told me i could drive to the Network in Glendale, but that was 45 minutes away from where I was at (Cave creek rd location)

Ill probably have to sack up and drive over to the other further location this weekend.

NickTurnon 03-07-2014 10:16 AM

Besides, He said i would probably need Camber Arms & Toe Bolts just to do the alignment anyways..

Anywhere to pick these up at? I know of a friend of a friend that owns a shop, but dont know his pricing.

I have already put on 500 miles on the new tires.. I dont want to shred them even more then I probably am right now haha!

You lowered without installing Camber Arms & Toe Bolts? :shakes head:

You don't need fronts.

Pretty good price:

SPC Rear Camber Toe Arm Kit Infitini G35 G35X Nissan 370Z 72260 | eBay

This is what I installed when lowering:

I did.

NickTurnon 03-07-2014 10:42 AM

How fast are you running thru your tires Chuck?

Do i have a good amount of time to wait before I do the alignment? Enough to wait for shipping on some camber arms? I've never been lowered but some people say they go thru tires every 3 months. I don't want to be that guy...

OEM rears lasted 15k miles and the fronts were still good for another 15k. I had it aligned at the same time as the camber arms were installed, but the springs had been on for a few months. I wasn't too far out of spec.

NickTurnon 03-07-2014 10:51 AM

My last set of tires lasted almost 30k. I just feel my car slowly pulling to the right after I installed the suspension upgrades & new tires. I am going to order some SPC Camber arms or maybe find some used ones on here and just wait til i've installed them on the car to do the alignment...

Just thought it was funny that they couldn't get the alignment done because the lip was too low. I never read that problem with anyone else installing the Shine Lip

pfdaxe 03-07-2014 11:09 AM

Looks like Concept Z in N. Phoenix sells them if you didn't want to wait on shipping. Not sure if they have them in stock or if they drop ship to customers:

SPC 72260 Rear Camber Arm - 370Z - Nissan performance parts

Have you reviewed the DIY's on this?

Haboob 03-07-2014 11:14 AM

Jenna said she had an issue w/Concept Z though. Advised against doing business with them.

I haven't dealt with them personally, nor do I know anyone else that has though.

I bought my CSC there with no issues, but who knows.

Yeah, who knows. Could have been a one-off situation.

Chuck33079 03-07-2014 11:21 AM

I think every shop or vendor has at least one person out there who'll tell you not to do business with them.

pfdaxe 03-07-2014 11:26 AM

I've dealt with them a few times since they're down the street from me, so very convienient. Never had an issue, but nobody there has a personality. It's like "here's your parts...see ya"...

Hotrodz 03-07-2014 10:29 PM

Nick, I only needed rear camber arms and toe bolts when I had those springs on my Nismo. The tech was able to bring the car back into OEM specs once they installed them. I need fronts now that I'm lowered on coil overs. Saving up for SPL's!!!

Thank you buddy! I sent him a post..

I was told by a local shop that all that I will need is SPC Eccentric bolts for $40. And that I wouldn't need camber arms...

I am just going to get them. Can't hurt to have them right?

I needed them (camber arms) with the same springs. I'm right within specs.

Hotrodz 03-28-2014 08:18 PM

If you ever go with coil overs down the line you will need them and front arms too! I'm hoping to get free for the Jerome run if it happens!!!

NickTurnon 04-10-2014 11:17 AM

I need to start bringing my big camera around again..
I slowed down on my photography game.
Cell phone just ain't cutting it.

On a side note, I am going Bright Cherry RED Wheels & GLOSS. No more of the dark red.. Its not vibrant enough which I thought I wanted.. But they need to be red red like my tow hook and engine bay.
