nice DIY bro!!!!

Great write up about the peel and seal! I checked to see if Home Depot carries it but they don't. So, I'm gonna hit Lowe's this weekend. I did some extra research online and it seems like many enthusiasts use he product on their builds.
Thanks again for the recommendation. It will certainly save some $$$!!!! |

Excellent idea on the peel & seal stuff! Thanks for sharing this!

It may smell a bit when it gets hot. It's asphalt based as opposed to butyl rubber. If you want the best bang for your buck, after you put on a layer of this, put a layer of closed cell foam on top of it. I used Ensolite. It's cheap and self adhesive. Adding the foam makes the deadened work so much better.

Where did you get the ensolite foam, Chuck?

Car looks good man. Lovin the headlights

Went to CA last week to visit family and work out there. Thankfully my job only requires a fast laptop and WIFI. Here are some photos that I took:

Hello there,
I like all the DIY tips and tricks, quite nice to see budget conscience mods do work and turn out just fine. I was hoping you could provide a couple details as I am considering purchasing some wheel spacers. I posted up a couple questions on the 18" stock thread but no answer as of yet. As yours are stock 18" and 20 mm's... some questions for you if you do not mind... I contacted CPZ performance and could not provide a definitive answer, unless I pull the front stock rim and provide an picture to them. I noticed in your build images a picture of the front wheel and saw a "smaller" nut sticking out (not the studs for the attachment of the rim). Did you have to remove that when installing the 20 mm spacer. Also which brand did you end up purchasing. Seems like the H&R Trak DRM (bolt on's) on the Stillen website state they do not fit the 370Z fronts. Hence the question out to you. Also how did you black out the door handles, was that plasti dip? Regarding your purchase of the rear wing via WingTech, how was your experience dealing with them. How was the fit, finish and color match? I tried calling them several times now, left messages and send them 2 e-mails and have yet to receive any comm's back, hence my hesitation. Did you go through their website or via their ebay listings? Thanks in advance on any info you can share. |

I went with the H&R (stud replacement, not bolt-on) spacers on mine. One of my favorite mods. |

Thanks so much for the rapid assist and helping out clarifying things with detailed explanations. That's what I love about this forum ! That little nut had me worried but now explains a ton. Shooting for 20mm up front and 25 mm on the rears for now until I can save up for new rims and beefy tires (eventually). Planning to do either gloss metallic black 1080 3M wrap on the roof or still heavily debating to go with a 3M Gloss Black Carbon style. Also thanks on the confirmation on the wing, will order today and take a shot at it, at this price worth it. Wish I was in AZ right now and avoid the snow though :) ! Lucky you. Keep up the DIY's they are awesome |
I've taken on a project that I don't know if I can handle!
Wish me luck! http://s30.postimg.org/v4srvzf3l/20131126_134613.jpg http://s30.postimg.org/61gapq6up/20131126_134938.jpg http://s30.postimg.org/i8aufsy0h/20131126_134949.jpg http://s30.postimg.org/gfcj5827l/20131126_135213.jpg http://s30.postimg.org/m28w2p4q9/20131126_135221.jpg http://s30.postimg.org/8u4ww0htd/20131126_135500.jpg |

Sweet find on the lip. Looking forward on the next reveal pics!

Alright guys,
I spent my entire friday getting this prepared and making sure I had all the proper tools. This was my first time and I think I did a great job. I saved myself anywhere from $200-400 at a body shop for installation and prep/fitment. The total cost for this bumper was: $305 - I spent roughly $45 on other necessary tools such as the heat gun which cost $27 from harbor freight. With the help of a friend, we managed to get the bumper on in around 5-6 hours. But we were moving very slow and being extremely cautious and also had multiple beers. Here are some of the pics from the project. I might create a DIY soon for those interested... http://s16.postimg.org/d6qdk5wfp/20131129_133950.jpg http://s16.postimg.org/pk37r2m45/20131129_202154.jpg http://s16.postimg.org/5htj8fvxx/20131129_214023.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/29wrdsm.jpg http://i43.tinypic.com/28s7vw6.jpg http://i40.tinypic.com/2148ltl.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/xfqixu.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/2ag2t7p.jpg |

This was the only rear they had left when I spoke to the seller. But it turned out great! |
Nice work there Nick !
I have a favor to ask, when you get a chance and working the lip, can you take a progressive build / DYI and post up? Show measurements/drilling of holes , what comes with it from a standpoint of hardware (if any?) the instructions page (if any), gap issues / overall fit impressions etc. If not much (more :) ) to ask can you take a picture or just measure and provide the clearance distance ground to lip of left or right side extreme and center. I believe you have stock 18" and no lowering as of yet. As I live in Colorado there are just too many issues that could cause a "lip rip" thus I am trying to decide if I want to go this route, or something less deep. Greatly appreciate the assist. |

This is my everyday AVG. I just stick to the highways/freeways haha

Mine is 21.9-ish. I am only 2mi from the freeway, but there are about 320 stop lights in between, and then a few when I get off at downtown (not to mention garbage traffic). Must be nice! :icon17: |
My lip came in!

Oh yeah, this came too!
http://s22.postimg.org/5jkgtain5/20131203_152853.jpg Muahaha, so excited. This weekend, it's goin down. |

I drive from Raintree/101 to Broadway/Dorsey in Tempe everyday. Don't know what your route is. But mine is just straight and 75-80mph haha.. Motorcycle cop today gave me the "nod" and a little thumbs up to my car today.. Love that.. |
Quote:
I go from El Mirage and Olive to the 101, 101 South to the 10, 10 to 7th Ave down to Jefferson. The 10E is a disaster every morning, so 75% of the time I have to get off at 75th and take Van Buren or other surface streets down to 19th Ave. If only the buses started at 3 or 3:30 in the afternoon, I wouldn't have to drive but to the bus stop every morning (Glendale and the 101). |

Tks Carlitos no worries...I have the eBay seller currently on my watch list.
Just need those measurements before I can pull the trigger in earnest :) |
Hahah! Sorry! I have had finals due this week & a ton of stuff to do at work. I don't even think I have eaten today yet.
I will be putting it on probably tomorrow and will do measurements then! |
