Yeah Carlitos! The MAF tubes were red, and I had recently PAINTED the strut bar blue. I posted it a week or two ago. But, I wanted it all to match under the hood!

This is what I have started to use instead of driving to my girlfriends house or driving to my parents to wash my car -- Costs $1.25 for 4 minutes. So i spend about $2.50 total and the car leaves spotless. Love this DIP haha.

After a short weekend roadtrip to my hometown OC, I needed some new tires...

So I made a few calls, a friend pulled some strings, and I ended up at the Corporate Warehouse for "Friends & Family" of Discount Tire. It was a huge warehouse with only one small work bay for 1 car. Very exclusive. Loved that...

After my discount,

I purchased (4) Continental DWS All season tires per KenChans & many others recommendations..

I paid $178 for the front each. 245/45/18
I paid $221 for the rears each. 275/40/18
Total OTD was $834.. Thats a decent deal to me -

I will be re-dipping the wheels. Possibly a different color or add some red in there...

Let me know about the grip and sound quality of those.

I'll be getting new wheels here soon and I'm undecided on tires right now.

NickTurnon 02-28-2014 09:57 AM

It was a toss up between the Continental DWS - Bridestone S04's - & Mich PSS
I got the best deal on these Conti's though. I noticed a HUGE difference in the amount of rear tire that you get with the DWS compared to the FALKENs I had on there previously. No wonder these are supposed to last 50,000 without staggered..

Road noise, I am not the person to ask about. You cant hear the tires over my exhaust -
However.. I did notice that on the highway the car was noticeably quieter and smoother. But then again i've been driving with a new lowered suspension & bald tires for a couple of weeks so anything is a major improvement.

I will let you know how it handles when I open her up. Yesterday I was getting the traction symbol when I was just punching it in 4th gear with someone else in the car. Which is strange because my FALKENs never let it slip like that until around 2nd Gear. Maybe because they are so new still? Havent had time to get their grip? Idk..

damn bro!!! want to see that red plasti dip hahaa!!! im planing to do that with other rims ;)

NickTurnon 03-03-2014 09:50 AM

My ghetto Brembo's were flaking and I am not sure why. When I originally painted them red, I didnt think I'd need to use a clear coat or anything. But apparently rocks and other crap nick's the brake calipers.. Anyways, here is the before and after. I spent $10 on a can of High Temp Chrome Paint & some primer & Clear coat -

Front base brakes, with old red caliper paint:

Rear base brakes with old red caliper paint with much less damage...

After the chrome paint - Looks different!

I didnt want that CANDY RED in my engine bay. I wanted a more subtle Blood Red... So i took 4 cans of RED DIP & Added half a can of black. Created a custom blood red wheel. Here you go carlitos:

I also dipped my turn signals my custom red.
