I'll be running the new a52xs from ford. 450torque 580 hp. We should be quick if I can ever get it sorted. |
Z update I put on Toyo RRs on my track rims for this year. (I liked the RA1s that finally wore out but a buddy talked me into trying these.)

I've run the RA1s wet and dry and love them they get faster and faster as they wear down. I run square 18x275s so I can rotate them with wear.
I had REALLY good grip on the wet. My street rubber is PSS. There is no comparison at the track. The only concern is g Force with oil and fuel starve. I'm fuel starving at 2/3 tank!!!! I put in plunks pump to fix that issue and a deep billet pan to make sure I don't run out of oil. Be careful with that. (I'm considering a acusump) The RRs are a bit better dry. I'll let you know if their worth loosing the wet grip of RA1s My advice? If your a racer then RRs for ultimate limit performance. If your a weekend TrackAddict (like me) RA1s so you can run in the occasional wet day with negligible loss of grip in the dry. |
Right on...I really appreciate the information and your insight. I ended up going with the Z1 anti-fuel starvation kit because I was getting fuel starvation when I had burned about 5 gallon of fuel. I ran it down to about a quarter tank last time out with no issues.
I will keep an eye on the oil starvation as well. I got the Greddy over sized oil pan. I saw your post concerning the oil drain plug. Well I stripped mine out and didn't even know it until I tried to put the bolt back in and it would not seal up. I had to remove the pan install a helicoil spring. It was a pain but now I have no worries! I run re11s for street and I used them in the wet at the track weekend event in February. They work great in wet. The had over 12k on them but sI still had good tread on them. I used the for the fisrt session the following day as the track still pretty wet but drying. I should have changed them out as the rears heat cycled out. They are pretty much oversized hocky pucks now lol! I get the hook up on Toyos and Nittos so I will have to give the RA1s ago next season.
