Whit line sway bars are on the way from Z1. (I figure with all the extra grip I'll be getting from race rubber, I'll need to be a bit stiffer)

SurfDog 10-09-2014 08:34 AM

White line are on back order and get poor reviews here on the forum so I've changed over to Stillen. The should arrive in a few days

I just ordered the Z1 400 hp kit and Stillen gen 3 CAI. Install hopefully by end of April. (i might do some DIY, but probably will leave the exhaust header to a shop.)

So far here's the list of all the mods I can remember: (full disclosure: two of these are still in the install stage, but the parts are on hand)

Zspeed CSC

steering lock fuse

dynamat from seats back

3m tint

JWT clutch

JWT flywheel

JWT CAI then pulled out replaced with...
Stillen gen 3 CAI (20 degrees cooler intake temps over the JWT)

Z1 400 hp kit, which is:
-Z1 upper intake manifold (ported)
-Z1 exhaust manifold
-Z1 Test pipes (replaced my Berk HFC's)

Berk Cat back exhaust

Stillen 25 row oil cooler

Stillen brake cooling ducts

Passport 9500ci anti cop system

Quaife LSD

Z1 SS brake lines

Z1 2 piece brake rotors (front and back)

Hawk ceramics (for DD) or Plus (for track) brake pads

Uprev tune (5maps)
-1: 91 octane high altitude (colorado mountains) tuned,
-2: 94 octane/low altitude (for California)(with my old bolt-ons so it needs to be redone)
-3: 2500rpm limit (for the valet) anti Ferris Bueler map!
-4: engine kill
-5: stock map

billet shift knob (Tommy Hara)

hatch weight removal

Plastidip fangs/badges

3 sets of rims
-1. sport stock (black powdercoated) (running Conti DW's -ok grip but poor track life)
-2. sport stock (running Pilot All seasons -ok for cold but not very helpful in snow)
-3. Black GM Advan RS 18X10+15 Used wheels (running Toyo RA1 275/35 R18 -Untried waiting for summer track days)

it wont be long before the mods are worth more than my (used) purchase price.

Whew All my mods are in. Now I need to get in for a tune but my favorite shop (MAC motorsports in Parker Co) is all booked up for two weeks. I was going to try to go tracking at High plains Raceway on Friday, but I worry about being too lean. (new breather mods: Z1 plenum, test pipes, Gen 3 CAI, basically the full 400 hp kit)

sooooo.... I think I'm going to be a bit lean. I'd better tune before I push at the track I guess.

EDIT: HPR lapping day got rained out :(

As you can see above, my old front Fascia is BEAT!

tomorrow I'm dropping at the body shop for:
1. new OEM 09 fanged fascia (I considered Stillen but after a long soul search, I have decided the 09 fangs are just too cool to replace. What can I say, I'm a purist)
2. New windshield- I live in colorado and have 60 k miles on the window. PITTED TO HELL
3. Paint up a few chips on the leading edge of roof (I forgot to 3m wrap it when I did the rest)

My only remaining uninstalled mod is the trailer hitch, probably because I'm still building the track trailer (for tires fuel/fluids, jack and tools etc) carrying fuel cans in the car is nasty (and probably dangerous)

next up?
I'm considering ...
1.swift springs (long overdue)
2.oil system upgrade (dry sump? upgraded wet sump? Dunno, I'm still researching. Until then, I'm keeping my rev limit at a nice "safe" 7500 rpm)

Ordered these:
SPL Front Outer Tie Rod Ends (370Z / G37)

does the high altitude in colorado make the numbers show less when you get a tune there vs if you tuned it here lets say in georgia?

SurfDog 05-08-2015 07:47 PM

Yes. About 20whp
