Track day finished off the synchros on 5th gear so dealer is dropping in a new tranny for me (under warranty)
Also, while the car is up on dealers lift getting a new tranny for a few days, I'll powder-coat my rims. The paint from my original rim repair has begun to flake off and looks terrible. Forum member Shadezz has a friend who will strip and coat all 4 wheels for $300.00 total ($75 bucks a wheel). I'd say that's a pretty good deal!

I just ordered: 1. Z1 hub centric spacers (15mm front 20 mm rear) http://www.z1motorsports.com/g37_370...oducts_id=3118 and extended lugs: http://www.z1motorsports.com/g37_370...oducts_id=5410 2. Z1 ss brakelines (and some more RBF 600 fluid for the bleed) http://www.z1motorsports.com/g37_370...oducts_id=5285 3. Hawk ceramic pads for up front (the HP plus pads are too dusty and squeaky, and I worry wont give enough grip during the cold Colorado winter) I'll keep the HP plus pads handy for track days! http://www.z1motorsports.com/g37_370...oducts_id=4338 I'm hoping to put together an install day with Shadezz next week (he has new ss lines coming as well)

Some updates!! Test fit the new gun metal powder coating on his wheels!! They look like brand new and color is unique...I'm calling it the track pack color!!
It's starting to really grow on me Surfdog...might even wanna see what that color mounted on my MB would look like.

New tranny installed. Feels like new... because its new!
Covered by my warranty so it was a freebee!! Also did the Steering lock recall while I was there. (now, have to decide if I'm going to re-pull my SL fuse)

HP plus brakes. Awesome at the track! squeaky, dirty(dusty) and poor cold wx grip on the street. They are coming off and going into my track day bin.
370Z (Sport Package) Hawk Performance Ceramic Pads are going on (at least untill spring)

I just ordered Phunk's fuel starvation fix!!! It is a preproduction order so the part is probably going to be an early 2014 install, but will be ready for sure in time for spring lap days!!!!

Wheels installed!
There is a small wobble on the rears, but they should be fine for track and snowtires, and I'll eventually get them straightened! Also I track tested them! Here is a video! track day! - YouTube

TPMS bomb DIY. So easy even a child can do it!

After much procrastination...
My Z1 Stainless brake lines are in tonight. It was a bit of mess, and I probably should have let a pro do it for me, but it was kinda fun and pretty easy. As an added bonus, I was able to look while I was installing and see that my HP-pluss pads are hanging tough even after quite a bit of track abuse Sorry no picks I was waaay to covered in brake fluid to touch my phone for photos. DIY tips... 1. Have a pro do it lol 2. Make sure all your connections are TIGHT before you try to bleed... 3. don't over-tighten your fittings.

No picture (it cant really be captured) but I had the slight wobble "straightened" out of my track day rims. Now they spin straight and true. Also, I pulled the TPMS system out of all my wheels and built a TPMS bomb. (it took some post production tweaking to make it hold pressure)
Here is my (kinda goofy) DIY: TPMS bomb DIY. So easy even a child can do it!

I just installed and bedded the Z1 two piece rotors with Hawk ceramic pads. (Front and rear)
Going from hawk plus race pads to ceramics resulted in a huge reduction of stopping power, but also a huge reduction of dust and squeal and reportedly longer pad life. (The hawk plus pads wore down pretty quickly) I'm sure I'll miss the stopping power at the track, but I must say on the street these ceramics are very nice. As for the rotors... Meh. I'm not feeling a daily drive difference though they are Waaay lighter. The weight reduction is close to the center of rotation though so it's probably more of a light suspension feel thing than a torque/hp effect. My review... Performance wise, if you track your Z, Save 1000 bucks and run stock rotors and spend the extra cash on pads and car washes (for the dust) For the street, ceramics are really nice. I'm not noticing any performance gains from lighter rotors with my butt dyno. The rotors are pretty, but spend your performance gain money elsewhere. (Diff! Tune, flywheel, clutch and even exhaust note were way more noticeable.) Ps this is a fairly easy DYI project.
