Do you have anything more to share about the traction control system? I thought I remember you saying you were doing something different than the GTM off the shelf product?

Actually I just got it today and started making a plan of how to go about installing it. It is going to be a fair amount of work. Its going to have every feature that racelogic provides. No lift shift, launch control everything.
We have been going over the schematics and looking for the best way to do this. The Injector harnesses will be plug and play so there will be no cutting of the stock wires. The ABS wires have proven to be a bit more of a issue. It is virtually impossible to get to the main connector on the ABS module so that leaves tapping into each sensor between that and the sensor. The rear ones will be easy, they come up into the trunk and then up to the front, they can easily be tapped there. The fronts will be a bit more of a hassle, we have to either tap into the harness where each abs sensor connects to the main harness infront of each wheel well. This is if we cannot get a pig tail extender for each one made up. I believe I am going to try and put the brain of the unit (as well as all my PLX modules) under the front passenger seat. It will be easy to cram everything under there (gotta check the height first) and hide all the wiring.

Well to be fair Sam did say he could add all these features. The reason GTM does not advertise is that it is significantly more work to install. In order to get the no lift shift you have to tap into each of the speed sensors manually. If not then you can get all this info through the ecm harness and not have to deal with this so were hoping it pays off. I would think with a boosted car the no lift shift should work awesome, no need to bleed off the boost between shifts.

Looky! James came over today and we got it up and running. This was just a quick test to make sure that it was cutting the injectors properly. Sounds pretty sick and even at ~2800 rpm rev limiter you can hear the turbo starting to go, I think this is going to work pretty well. Tomorrow will be cleaning up everything and tucking it all away somehow, there is ALOT of wires sitting in the car right now.

Thanks!
and yup, tires should show up this week. Just will have to get them put on and then throw a clutch and flywheel in her.

Sooo I started (finally) wiring the car and cleaning it all up but am still unsure about where to mount both the traction control monitor and the boost controller. I am thinking these two spots;
This you can see through the steering wheel when driving and can easily change it, I currently have the cables ran to here. I will have to get some time behind the wheel to see if it really works. It has to be accessible to activate launch control, I was thinking about sticking it down by the shifter but there is nowhere where it would look like it was meant to be there. We'll see, it might end up down there yet depending on how this works out. As for the boost controller, I am thinking about sticking it right beside the gauges, its easy to see and can easily be reached. The only issue could be securing it well enough so that when you touch the buttons it doesn't brake loose. Again very easy to relocate if its not working out. Anyone have any better ideas of where you would put these? I seen the traction control in the center console and glove box, but it would be too awkward I think to turn on launch control. Also my tires showed up last night. Tirerack FTW even up here in Canada. They ship UPS but take care of all the duty and taxes and everything on their end. So no bills or anything when they show up. Also they were by far the cheapest I could find.

Could you mount the traction control unit in the center console, as you will not be needing to see it every second?
The boost controller, do you need to see it constantly? I know many people have it hidden in the passenger cubby area so they can reach it but easily hidden.

As far as the boost controller I am thinking I am going to use it as a boost gauge as well, that way I free up a gauge to monitor something else. I am assuming that the EVC will show a more realtime boost as the PLX gauge is routing in a air line from the engine bay. I know people will usually stick it right between the hazard and S mode buttons as well.

I put my cell right on the forward right side of my shifter lever. My dash is not cluttered but its right there when I need it. This might work for you to... here is a picture from my build page. Surfdog's 09 journal
