Car broke giving Hotrodz a ride just as I was explaining my lack of power. More details in a bit. Accessory belt is destroyed, no power steering, alternator not spinning and the pulley squeals, the passenger side SC is nearly unspinnable compared to the driver side (spins easy). Jenz and her BF are helping me immensely. I'm in contact with GTM.

Oh that sucks man. Fingers crossed she's back on the road soon.

tturbo370z 04-05-2014 03:27 PM

Awww man that blows. Hope it's not too bad.

octet 04-05-2014 03:33 PM

Sorry to hear that, specially after our conversation :(

Mr.Squeeze 04-05-2014 03:56 PM

Good luck hope the damage is not catastrophic

SS_Firehawk 04-05-2014 05:08 PM

Car drives under its own power. I'm going to get the stock stuff replaced, see if it fixes everything. If something is going on with the car still, I'll have GTM transport it back to their shop. The rubber smell, extra rubber chunks I saw, and the continual drop in power oer time, things are starting to add up.

Dude... Idk if I have the patience you do. I had my turbos replaced and it took 4 days. I b*tched everyday about how long it was taking.

SS and I have talked about getting together and comparing our builds for some time here on the forum. We were pumped up to finally meet and spend a little quality time comparing and talking about our builds. I arrived late this morning to C&C and SS, Zoe, Jenz and her husband were waiting for me. I popped the hood and we started comparing our setups, the twin SC looks sweet. So SS takes me for a ride and it is as he has stated above. There is no way describe it other than it plane sucks to see his build fail the way it did today. I think the worst part of it was when SS went for a ride in my car. I could see it on face that it was like rubbing salt into an open wound. I know he enjoyed the ride, but it was a painful reminder of what he has been missing for sometime. I can't tell you how bad I felt watching his car being towed away. It's just not right!!! On the glass is half full side of things, I don't think there is anything wrong with the engine, it seems to be a problem with the SC pulley.

Hang in there bro...better days are coming!

Yup exactly how I feel...but I have to say I'm glad that I met SS as he is as genuine a person you can meet. I can't wait to hang with him again.

You're such a nice and kind guy, buddy! Hope everything goes right for SS!

What's Sam saying about it?

Get the stock pieces replaced, test everything. If it's still messed up, he will transport it back to the shop and take care of it. I know his rep took some serious damage, but I've yet to have support problems with him. He even said he would tKs it right now as is, but it doesn't make sense to do that until the stock pieces are replaced. I'm crossing my Fingers to get the stuff replaced under warranty, but definitely not holding my breath. It can beeasily proved the superchargers caused the stock tensioner pulley to have some play in it (enough to shred the belt), and make my alternator pulley squeal.

Good luck my friend. I hate trying to convince a dealership it wasnt due to aftermarket parts...

Hey Firehawk - the sucks - hope it all works out for you. When you say "get the stock pieces replaced" - do you mean take the SCs off and put it back to stock N/A?

I had one idler seize up soon after completing the build - but was able to fix it before it was anything more than a squeak.

I will definitely be interested to know, if you find out, what failed to cause the belt to shred, and why.

The alternator and stock tensioner pulley. The alternator pulley squeals and the tensioner pulley feels loose. The SC pulleys and belt on each side look fine. If it fails to perform after everything is checked tested, , then I'm ripping the $hit out and going turbo. I will have my power ;)
