I did not realize when putting the bottom of the front end back together there were some many bolts, I think I counted 16 to but the front cover under the engine (that's what the parts site said). Funny think in putting it back together, I realized it was not put back together correctly, so it required some rework, but it is all buttoned up
oil line setup IMG_1077.jpg front of car back together and Nismo Headlights IMG_1082-b.jpg with that all done, took it for a drive on Saturday, felt good to have it back on the road...

interesting that is all I can say..
I replaced my stock seats replaced with RECARO Sportster CS (love the seats) My son I were auto crossing in July and the driver seat would not stay locked in position Finally took it to the shop (yea, it was a long time and no I am not that mechanical incline) When they took it all apart it turned out to be a clearance problem. Like an 1/8 of inch. Which was causing the seat position to become released. It was the angle and weight. Just very odd Just had to share..... Funny think, never had problem until that weekend, my sons driving position is different than me.

Put the seat back in and took it for a spin to make sure that it wouldn't move and it didn't. Was a bit funny, now I have to figure out my seating position again, thou it will be fun.
Had a neighbor say nice car, that all makes you feel good .....

Well looking at what to do in 2018, and I cannot think about much to do to the Z, it is really 98% of how I want it. New Side skirts would be nice, but they cost a bit,
So I guess it is time to simply drive it and enjoy it... Happy New Year everyone

carbon-fiber door inserts are now in the doors, but my plans to put them on the car today not going to happen. See in late November I scratched up my rear bumper, backed into another car, just minor stuff, So it went the body shop on Monday, and it is not done yet. Oh well. I am really pleased with the door inserts, look so much better. here is a pic of them installed on the door, next step to get pics in the car...

just finished reading Grassroots Legendary Lineup about the history of the Z, made me remember about the 240z and 260z I had. (Cars I should have not sold)
I have a 2012 Black Cherry, just priced out a similar 2018, and the price has not changed much on it. (2018 Sport Tec). Thou I am sad to see that Black Cherry is no longer offered. (I like the front better on 2009-2012, just my feelings) I had a good laugh about used 350Z prices starting at 5000, not around here, cheapest I saw was 6995, with 100K miles. But In the end they said it still was a good car for the value.. Love my Z Here's the link, if you have not read it already https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/ar...an-z-car-best/

Watching the Barrett Jackson Scottsdale Auction
just saw this go for 37K Lot 172 - 1972 DATSUN 240Z Restored with 1,100 miles since restoration of original L24 engine, other mechanicals, rubber, trim, bumpers and interior. 4-speed manual transmission. Color matches factory original. Always garaged, never a daily driver. makes me wonder if I had kept mine, but then again, who knows...

Oh yea, forgot this and a reason, I will never get rid of my Z,
I had my DD (Genesis Coupe) in for 15000 maintenance at a dealership, also its a big own several dealership. The Z was there last week to get the rear bumper repainted. Talking to the Service person, and mentioned the Z, yea was talking to Wiley (collusion guy) he said it was a real nice car... every reason to love the Z

took the Z in for service and had a Rogue rental car..
tell you the truth, I keep the Z over that, it had some many gadgets, it made me wonder if any of them failed what it would cost to repair them. The only thing I wish was that my Z had blue tooth. Guess I need to find out how to get in the car.....

something interesting my DD is a 2015 Genesis coupe, and have found an interesting articles
https://www.autobytel.com/sports-car...to-buy-131356/ The Z didn't make this group, but the Genesis Coupe did and they compared it to the Z WTH, just amazes me, it is not even close. Well it is what it is...

I make enough to feed the addiction, and I hope I have finished my mods for now, so the next step is to simply drive it and have fun

Never liked the idea of asking how much people spend on other's build that's all. Rude in my opinion but that's just me.
I really like the C.F. door inserts btw.
