Another trip to Atlanta, good mileage about 28
car turn 47K, not bad, car build date is 8/2011, so being 4 years old not bad,
really drove it a lot the first year

next step in the mods has started, decided on headers from Z1Motorsports, they will come next week and then off to the shop and get it on the schedule.

Only odd thing, was the test pipes, had custom ones made by FI, and Z1Motorsports states they will not work with there exhaust. So order a different set of Test pipes, still enough to keep the sound reasonable, because of autocross restrictions

Guess I will find out when I take it to the shop...

Spoiler looks like something you would see on a Honda Civic

everyone has there ideas, this was as close to a nismo spoiler I could get at the time, without paying lots of money for a nismo....

Headers are here from Z1Motorsports, so now need to get to the shop and get on there schedule to have everything done

went to MCD's and the Drive thru attendant commented on the car and stated he like the GTR too, saw a couple of other Z's on the highway on the way back... just a fun trip

Well the Z is going into semi-retirement today... no longer the DD..
New car in the family is a 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe
It was too good to pass up, got it for 7500 off of sticker
brand new, 61 miles...
I was looking for a new DD, this will work, totally different feel then the Z
a lot heavier steering it's automatic with a 8 speed transmission and paddles, it can move, but not like the Z

so now I can mod and not worry about having a car to drive.

Bit funny when at the car dealership, they were all over wondering if I was going to trade the Z in, and then they wanted me to take the new car home and leave the Z.. yea and they would gently park it in back, right

Got the new car home, finally today, arrangement with the dealership did not work out yesterday...

total different feel then driving the z, going on a road trip this weekend, so we'll find out more.

but it does not look bad,

Next week to the shop and get the Z schedule for mods to go on...

Comparison of driving the Genesis Coupe vs the Z on my trips to and from Atlanta
mileage about the same Coupe got 30, Z is 28-29
power can't beat the Z, but when using the AT Shifters it showed some potential
Handling its the Z, will have to take the Coupe and see what it does in an Autocross
Getting in and out, the Coupe was easier, but then again it's not a sports car...

exciting day today, went to the shop, that the Z is going to.. It is schedule to go in the shop on Tuesday, for stillen gen 3 intake, FI Exhaust, Z1motorsport headers, after that or while in the shop, will take the recaro's, so in 2 or 3 weeks, phase 1 will be done.

Interesting shop, lots of wankel Rotor parts, owner stated he likes the 370z and that nissan under powers them, will be real interesting to see and hear the finally product..

Today was the day, the car in the shop at 'Addicted Performance' for it's transformation. Cool shop, neat owner lots of comments on the 370Z and the engine, made happy all over for purchasing it almost 5 years ago.

Another interesting comment, was they have tune/worked on 8-9 Genesis Coupes in the past year, mostly AT, which mine falls into.

So I have two interesting cars now...

Well I autocross on Sunday, but not with the Z, still in the shop.. Was surprised at how well the Genesis Coupe ran, it had power and it handled well, considering it was stock tires and I did not change the tire pressure.

I still ran in STM, and ended up only 9 seconds of the 1st place car, which was a highly modified Miata.. Was only .669 seconds of the person in 9th, so I was happy.

I least learn a bit more on how the car handled and that was the objective.

Though the funny thing was that where the autocross was by a lake and geese had walked all over part of the autocross area, and it was full of geese dumpings..

The Z will be done by Tuesday almost, the tune still has to be done. Will get the car back to put back in the garage, for I will be gone for 3 weeks. So at the end of September it will go back get tune and have the seats put in.

Z back from the shop and it sounds great with the Headers and FI exhaust, for me it is just right, along with the Stillen Gen III cold intake, color door handles, and test pipes...

the 350Z I found a the local grocery store, lucky find, from the label on the back it came out in 2013

Took a short drive in the Z today, saw a rainbow, and the sound of the new exhaust system is so neat, need to get a sound clip somehow

love the way the handles now blend in, was a long journey to get the handles and then get them install, but it well worth it

Autocross day.... nice and cool finally... only got 4 runs :(
1st Run DNF, saw where I should have gone, but didn't
2nd Run, snagged two cones
3rd run, hit a cone wall and got 5 cones, two which I dragged back to the grid
4th run, clean and lower time yet, less braking....

did notice that I might have one more autocross on the tires, starting to see the core almost....

Autocross update, well I made the Event 10 Sound Hall of Shame, it was 90DB, limit for the event was 101.5 db, this is not a concern, but the real concern is at the college the club runs at. There is has been lowered to 93db. Not sure of the next event what it is. But I think I will have to find out how to quiet it down a bit.

The rule is, you get one chance to fit it or you are done for the day.. but that is the cost of having a place to run

Time for a tune and the recaro seats installed..
Base HP at the wheels is 295, will be interesting to see what it will be at after it gets its tune.

It was amazing I got the recaro seats into the Z, just one trip, which is good.

Interesting comment today, I was walking in the apartment complex and spotted a neighbor washing a new M3, didn't ask the year, he said it was the last with a V-8. He said he had noticed my 370z, and then added, he didn't really like the 370z, for they kept up with the M3.. some comment like that, so I do not know if he was tracking it or not, but I just smiled knowing that the Z likes to run ....

bit of an update on getting the recaro's installed, learning a lot, will be a bit, had to order new brackets, the one's I bought would not work. So a few days... They did say they would like good in it. But what an education ....

picked up the Z, today only because I am going to be out of town for a couple of weeks, shop is great, but little room for storage, so I simply brought it home, clean and shine her all up.

Made head way on some de-chroming, was able to get the nissan badges off with minimum effort. I had purchase a trim removal trip, it is all made of hard plastic. Was able to get under the badges and pry them off.

fun thing is, pulled out of the shop lot, on a main highway and the acceleration to 60 was quicker than I have experienced, definitely has more go sounds great too..

I have the same exact car i believe. '12 Black cherry Touring w/sport. Got it this march. I did the same thing to the door handles but in black cherry. Looks amazing and has the same shine as the factory paint.

What test pipes do you have? Your dyno seems low for all these mods? or am i too optimistic?

door handles are exactly like your painted black cherry and you are right, they are amazing, actually finishes the car...

It has not been tune/dyno yet, its just timing and out of town a bit. It is going back in the shop thanksgiving week for the tune and finish putting in the recaro seats in.

The test pipes are from Z1motorsports, 'AAM Competition 2.5" Resonated Test Pipes - 350Z /G35 VQ35DE' The reference to the 350Z, is I also purchased the Z1Motorsport headers, the FI resonated test pipes would not fit.

got to take the Z out after two weeks, have been out of town, and felt great and sounded great with the new exhaust system...

Now Monday comes and it goes back in to get the finish work done...

Love the car! I wish I had my Z when I lived out in Knoxville.

well Z did not make to the shop this week, the parts for the seats did not make it in,
so maybe next week.. will get this confirmed on Monday, and then will talk about the tuen and a few others things,

maybe instead of putting more money into, that the money that is left and get a Z32, there is on there at the shop, that is just waiting all depends on the price and repairs... :stirthepot:

oil change time again, a bit late this time almost 6 months, instead of the standard 3 months... do enjoy the Gold preferred plan, or what ever I bought for maintenance.....

but the fun part was watching some of them just drew all over the car, had it out and the exhaust sounds so nice, and it really like to run....

Besides the recaro, I add another 370Z to the family, awhile ago I found a 1/24th Maisto assembly line 2009 Nissan 370z, So I got the idea of painting it the same color as my Z, which is NAG/Black Cherry, In searching the web, I found this company Automotive Touch Up (Touch Up Paint and accessories | AutomotiveTouchup) they make custom spray can paints of all sorts of car colors. Made it an easy way to paint the car
