Thanks Mike.

I forgot to mention that I also notched out the battery and clutch covers so they could be removed without needing to remove the lower bolt on the hood strut.

^this link should take you to the page, I just ran hose from each brether filter location to a can to collect the oil, like I said, it isn't much but you'll probably notice it eventually. The attention to detail on your build is going to pay off big time! Great job!

It's a problem on my end. Your link went to page 5 but I have the forum set up to show the maximum number of threads/posts per page. So I think having that setting threw it off. Still, I love looking through your build thread again.

Default Z1 hood struts and hood bulge

There has been some problems with hood bulge after installing Z1 hood struts. I set up my camera and tripod trying to catch the difference in hood bulge with the Z1 hood struts installed and without. Well, by eye the difference wasn't really noticeable until I took the pictures with the camera and went back and forth looking at the photos. Very noticeable. I'll see if I can make some kind of slide show alternating the photos so people can see the difference.

Long story short, after witnessing it, I had to fix it for peace of mind. How? I carefully heated the area with my Steinel Heat gun (this gun can produce temps up to 930˚F) folded up a microfibre towel lengthwise 4 times and placed it between the hood strut and plastic clutch cover while it was still hot, then closed the hood and let it cool. Then I took with hood strut and without hood strut pictures for comparison and was happy with the results.

I forgot to mention, The Z1 hood struts have model information painted on them. It would look like crap after installation so I sanded them down with some 1000 grit sandpaper and resprayed them satin black. Much better now.

I also downloaded the new Uprev base map to the ECU today.

Yes the bulge issue is real unfortunately I'm not as creative as you with the heat gun, I just took mine off.

Question for you Jason -

How did you plumb up for an oil pressure sensor ( I think you have one, right?). The DIY here on the boards uses the stock location and then you place a T to add the new sensor and retain stock sensor as well. I thought a saw a pic of the kit installed and it looked like this location was already used in the turbo kit to feed the scavenge pump or something like that. I need to pull out the manual and check it out further but wondered what you did.

Thanks!

I did it just like the DIY (adding a T fitting) but placed the stock sending unit on the side of the T fitting and the Defi sending unit on the end. That way I didn't have to move the factory wiring like mentioned in the Turbo installation manual.

I can try to get a picture tomorrow. I'm not sure how much can be seen now with the rest of the oil lines in place.

No. I thought I would have trouble finding that stuff around here so I ordered it from Sasha.

Can that be done after the fact?
