So I took the Z out to test the new fitting. I just got on the highway and caught a rock from a passing vehicle....

While on our drive Mrs.Force called the glass shop. They said they would have a new windshield ready at 2pm. On the way there I came up on this... I can't say what happened next...

Next the monkeys at the glass shop... Let me put it to you this way, they are getting me another windshield.

Top before, bottom after. Also notice the defect on the edge of the glass. I think they installed the weatherstrip upside down. I will be inspecting the glass and weatherstrip before the next installation. Something they should have done this time.

When I finally got home I checked the new fitting. It's leaking too. FFS. I am going to make a new hose, the new one will be a half inch longer. Shouldn't make a difference as the hose I have on there now isn't stressed. It's the only other thing I can think of doing.

Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrghhh!!!!!!!!

You rolled up beside him and gave the thumbs-up of approval. Then calmly went about your previous business?

Sucks about the windshield. Hopefully they get that **** fixed correctly.

Don't worry Mr. Gale. Those of us with BP kits who have ran across a 911tt know exactly what happened ;)

:iagree:

I don't seek out a race, but if they come at me, it's on! Too bad that never seems to happen on the routes that I take. The FL anti-racing laws seemed to have really toned down the other drivers.

Mine looks similar but it's not leaking that I can tell... It's as if they installed the windshield lower than they should have, because I can actually see the edge of the windshield at the top. The weatherstripping at the top doesn't cover the edge of the windshield like it used to.

Would you guys have them fix it, even if it doesn't leak? Our cars are so loud that I have no idea if there is any additional wind noise.

Well, the photoshoot from earlier in the week was great. We are forbidden to show any shots until after the feature comes out. But... we did get some footage from a GoPro Hero on a DJI RC Drone that we are able to show. It's short but gets the point across.

Shot by RC Drone Ariel Photographer Daniel Camer.

Does your weather strip have a visible seam?

Bottom line, it's not right, I'm not happy with it. They are getting another windshield and redoing it on their dime.

Thanks Carlitos. :tiphat:

It will get resolved one way or another.

I swear I have the exact same crack on my windshield. Even the way it curves down and just just stops. But up here in this dirty part of the country with oil field trucks on all the roadways its just something you cannot get around unfortunately, especially with a DD.

No visible seam. Your description of it looking like it was upside down sounds spot-on.

Hope they get it right the 2nd time.

I've been chasing an oil leak for a while. I replaced the old fittings and hose with new Russell Performance hose and fittings thinking a better quality fittings would be the answer. I still have a leak, always the same spot. I have used three new fittings trying to fix the leak and just today lengthened the hose and used two new fitting on each end as a just in case. Still leaking.

It leaks at the swivel, NOT at the threads.

Suggestions?

Top one. It's hard to see but there is a drip of oil there.
