My only requirement for our next house is to have a really big shed in the back yard with a lift where I can work on cars separate from the garage. I'll be interested to see what you end up with :)

Been there, doing that .. SWMBO wants a new house, so designed a 330 sq.m dwelling and 10m by 24m shed !!!

2-post, 4-tonne hoist and low-rise scissor lift plus bench-space, racking, space to park trailer and tow car ... well worth doing ......................

So... Yesterday I email my painter to see if I could pick up my harness bar, and some other parts, today. He told me last week they would be done today... He just emailed me back this morning saying someone put the colour chip back in the book and he needs my strut bar back so he can take another picture for colour matching. I installed the strut bar a 2 weeks ago... FFS

Ugh... Car modding is definitely a love/hate relationship. Nothing ever seems to go right. I just installed my rear sway bar and end links last night and there were no problems, everything went smoothly. I couldn't believe it lol, everything has been such a PITA lately I was expecting something to break.

If you bought whiteline links watch them. I've had the nut back off several times.

Hmm... I'll have to check mine.

Huck 05-09-2014 09:38 AM

I ended up going with SPL on all four corners. I heard that the Whiteline end links have a habit of breaking. I torqued them down pretty hard with my impact gun, and I'll check them inna few days to make sure they're staying. Thanks for the heads up :)

Wish I'd have gone SPLon the rear. I'm stock on the fronts. Fronts are beefy as hell. I'd be shocked if I ever snapped one

GaleForce 05-09-2014 10:56 AM

SPL is the stuff. When I get around to upgrading the rest of my suspension it will be all SPL.

In other news. Harness bar and other parts will be ready for pickup tomorrow.

And I came up with an idea for my old strut bar. I'm going to paint it and have some carbon fibre show through. We'll see how it turns out in a few weeks.

I wish I could have someone teach me how to lay CF, I've watched videos on YouTube but it does t always explain all the questions I have. I learn by watching and doing. I'd love to cover my strut bar in white CF. And a lot of my interior pieces too.

I know the rears break a lot, I wasn't sure about the fronts but I didn't want to be halfway though the tail of the dragon at Zdayz and lose front sway bar functionality, so I bought all four just to be safe.

I'm all for overkill! One thing that's really important is to keep them greased. I hit mine every time I have the undertray off
