New Z: 2011, MB, 7AT, touring+sport+nav

Power-ups coming soon... :excited:

shadoquad 10-10-2012 06:04 PM

Fook. Sorry to see that, man. But glad you've got a new black one!

Long story short, swerved to avoid somebody who cut me off on highway, avoided collision with anyone but careened off the concrete barrier.

Body damage looked workable, but I managed to rip the front axle apart and twist the frame in the rear, so... TOTALED.

Baseline dynos and mods to come... first thing I need to do is tint and oil change :p

I'll have a few left over items from the old zed for sale soon too :D

ZCarMan 10-10-2012 06:50 PM

Welcome to the dark side. :)

Cmike2780 10-10-2012 06:53 PM

Yikes. Poor Z.

Says the guy that jumped ship. :p

Glad you're alright, Jordo.

Nice new Z. :tup::driving:

Jordo! 10-10-2012 08:53 PM

Thanks, gents

Will be doing a few things a bit differently.

Probably going with PPE headers instead of TP's and spending money (eventually) on stickier tires rather than different wheels.

That new intake project I had mentioned in other threads is still on, but moving slowly, so eventually that.

Also planning on koni's + swifts and a few other suspension mods that I have been accumulating... I'll share details as things get done for those who may be interested.

First thing I need to do, other than tune the shift speed and throttle response is get a baseline -- back to stock for the moment.

frost 10-10-2012 08:57 PM

Glad it worked out, and glad you're okay!

864Zbeast 10-10-2012 10:01 PM

b1adesofcha0s 10-10-2012 10:42 PM

Heh heh -- eh, not the first toy I've managed to break in some way.

Oh, and if anyone was wondering, it's actually a line from an old Slits song -- it fits

Mike 10-11-2012 04:51 PM

Glad you are ok and back in a Z!

I had illuminated door sills, but just sold them.

Might be selling my EVO-R cf license plate garnish, and local would be preferred.

Set of OEM cats.

That's about it ATM.

I might be! Are you nearby? I could pick it up or we could maybe meet in the middle. PM me with details on price, please.

If anyone is wondering, alignment is set with -1.65*camber in front, -2.38* in rear (thanks, in part, to SPC adjustable rear camber arms), and +.1* toe all around -- feels like a go kart!

Better pics later on.

Baseline dyno on Saturday and then on to the power-ups :D

2theextreme 10-31-2012 01:50 PM

Looking good!

joshs09slvrZ 10-31-2012 03:18 PM

Dang Jordan!

Glad to see you're back up and running though. Car looks great with the few things that have been done already. Looks like you'll be getting in touch with Martin soon.

:D

98intrigue 10-31-2012 04:39 PM

That was quick!

Oh, neglected to mention this but also picked up a 4-point ladder brace and Nismo sways (the latter was plenty of bar for me before, and a legitimate upgrade from stock), Project Mu HC+ brake pads (they rock!) and a set of SS brake lines from Z1.

PPE headers and (in all probability Nismo take-off) cat back coming soon. Bellmouth SRT intakes coming eventually... will do the tried and true smooth tubes + K&N filters in the meantime

Lots of new dynos coming soon!

They make those break pads for the Z?

Waiz 10-31-2012 06:46 PM

How did the wheels holdup in the accident?

They look like they were bent but fixable, just curious...

Yep. But tough to get -- had to special order them. Got the rears before I totaled the old Z and the fronts like a week ago.

Just as well... they would have been lost with wreck.

Wasn't really an option for me -- they adjusted the claim to account for them, so it all worked out.

Mt Tam I am 08-08-2013 12:15 PM

I missed your red Z's fate until today. Sorry. Most pleased you took up another Z.

Good thing for those albums at the top of the site page or I'd have gone on ignorantly.
