Finished up installing my CSF radiator today and fired her up for the first time in weeks. Boy the new headers sound great. Real mean. I love it. Man my car pulls harder now. It's amazing. Can't wait to get it tuned. Plus with the weight removed from the AC and stock manifolds which is 30+ lbs.

Also notice in the pics below how I removed all the hood latching, panels, and cables reducing a OK amount of weight (about 5lbs). I will be removing the middle section I left for I needed it to stay until I make a custom bracket to brace the upper portion of my oil cooler. I installed AeroCatch hood pins to hold hood. I'll post pics of those tomorrow. Ran out of day light.

Man, with that new radiator, oil cooler and vented hood I bet you never see high temps at the track!

Put the cover panels back on or fab one up. Not having that panel will actually hinder your engine's cooling ability, unless you plan on building a custom radiator duct from the Stillen fascia's opening to the radiator.

Oh really. So that shrouds directs all the air to the radiator then instead of it going to the engine bay?

Correct. Without that panel air will basically hit the front of the radiator and circulate around core as opposed to being channeled through it. That is why there are plastic finisher panels on the sides of the core support that extend to the fascia as well.

Without these panels air pressure will fill up the fender wells or engine bay without passing through the radiator.

Why is it some of the race teams dont run them nor did they have any other form of directing air? I'll keep a eye on things.

Brian Kleeman uses a stock one that has been sealed up with tape. SFR Enterprises has built sheet metal replacements that are completely sealed off along with custom made sheet metal ducting.

I am not sure about Doran's RC. It may have full ducting. But I know for a fact that it still retains that panel.

I've been wanting to design a shroud to direct air up towards my G3's. I guess with the Stillen fascia you don't have to worry about that.

I've already came up with a shroud that's going to work perfect IMO. I love this sh!t.

Default Aero Catch Hood Pins

Installed hood pins. What better way to rid weight than removing all the stock panels, three hood latches, and cables.
