Who me? I did nothing but stand there admiring your Z. Wish I lived next door, then I would have helpd every day.

I love all the progress and dyno but honestly, I'm still stuck on the first photos of it washed in the driveway. Damn that looks nice and the blue here and there is the perfect accent color. What wheels are those again and are you using spacers?

jpritche 06-19-2013 06:22 AM

Avantgarde M310. No spacers.

I think it's time for a visit to Canada for a Twin Scroll installation for this 7AT of mine :tiphat:...

Or you can come over to my place for a visit. I have a spare bedroom, bathroom, and room in the garage for your Z. We can have a few beers and talk cars

Nut_N_Much 06-19-2013 03:13 PM

Man I would love to visit and pier into the mind of made scientist . What months are warm ? :rofl2:

Rims have no spacers. Color Gun Metal
Front 19x9.5 +20 255/35/19
Rear 19x11 +18 305/30/19

Has the perfect stance !!! I will miss them.. :tiphat: LostSol is driving out from Orlando to pick them up today! I like that they will be local. I actually stopped by American Powder Coating on the way home from PT. They want $75.00 a rim to powder coat my new rims, I am trying to decide on a color. Metallic Blk, or a Darker Gun Metal. Also will do the door handles to match. I still need to put on the spacers for the rear.

Any color recommendations would be nice. Here is a pick of the car with the new rims.

I really liked the color of the wheels you had on. Can you do that color again? Or close to it?

Hey,
Just wanted to say thank you for the help to everyone who did the heavy lifting while I recovered from surgery. Thanks fellas :tiphat: Kellyefields, chpt11, MX52Z and my crazy Vietnam Vet neighbor (don't let him drink)...

Also wanted to give some props to Mr. Squeeze & Osiris for putting up with all my questions and posting their builds for others.. Thanks fellas..

No I'm not committing suicide, just saying thanks :wtf2: :rofl2:.

Thanks man glad I could help.

When I had the Stillen kit on my car my dyno was done in the early spring, I am sure that effects the numbers your getting big time. The one thing with that kit is because it air to water it runs hot and I am sure IAT's go way up in the heat.

Congrats on getting it all put together man great job.

Mr&Mrs 06-19-2013 06:30 PM

The on screen IATs were 98-100 degrees, pretty nasty.

chpt11 06-19-2013 07:36 PM

I'd say go metallic black on the rims/handles for more contrast.

My 2 cents at least.

:tiphat:

See if someone can photo-shop both styles for ya.

Nut_N_Much 06-19-2013 08:26 PM

Matt pulled up and I showed him the rims. man I took my last look at them and I really did like those M130's. I think a nice powder coat will tone those mags down some and reveal my sophisticated side..

Dumped Redline Water Wetter into the reservoir today, ran good. Tomorrow I will go through and check all the bolts to make sure nothing is loose. (I have a knock up under the dash next to the fire wall. I think one of the hard lines is tapping on something under there.

Also I think my ground for the battery is crap, I will run a cable from the negative to the engine block to fix my grounding issues.

Couple of small things going on but she per's like a kitten on steroids.

:tiphat:

What was used to read the IAT's because with uprev the stock Maf's read this and with the Stillen kit there relocated to the front bumper. This does not give you true IAT readings.

100 degrees IAT's are not that bad if its 100 outside ,having ambient temperature is pretty much what your going to get unless you have some other method of cooling the air.

Nut_N_Much 07-09-2013 03:56 PM

Today was a long good day.. The car has been running good but it just didn't feel right. You know how it is when you here a new noise you don't recognize. Man it keeps me up at night wondering what some of my noises are. Messes with my head :excited:.

This morning I pulled the hole front end off the and found some loose bracket nuts, also started looking at where Stillen tells you to mount the water pump (Driver Side Wheel Well). I decided to move it to the passenger side.

I relocated the PS Cooler lines down and cut out a cavity so they tuck up and out of the way. I smoothed out the core support for a good mounting point and Bammm it's mounted! The oil cooler lines run right around it and barley clear the pump. Its a radius bend so not worried about it, no sharp angles. I was able to remove about 4 feet of AN12 line by relocating that pump. Now it sits below the reservoir and has less work to do to move the water into the heat exchanger.

I also found my 25 amp inline fuse was blown. Ironic it powers the pump and I have no idea how long it's been off. I'm going to rig a small blue LED in the cab as an indicator light for the pump. That way I'll know if it's off or on. I've been blowing hot air in the engine, no wonder it didn't feel right.

All fixed and a few less noises..:icon17:

Sorry no pictures, I know; :worthless:. Sorry :tiphat:

Huck 07-09-2013 04:15 PM

I love it when the day feels productive and it's like you can't mess anything up lol. Then the next day usually sucks for me, I can't seem to find the problem or fix anything lol.

I survived Zdayz 2013... (barely)

MX52Z 07-09-2013 05:32 PM

Still can't get my ASWC right so I'm putting that away for now and focusing on the RJM clutch pedal assembly. Instructions call for two hours so that'll probably translate into two days.

Update

Okay,
I have never claimed to be the smartest tool in the garage and I just proved it!!!! I think I will start a thread called What Not To Do To Your Z !!!:tiphat:

I picked up the 25amp fuse and installed it. The pump came to life but I had no circulation in the reservoir. I let the pump run with the car off for about 10min and nothing.

Dumb A_s mistake #1 I took off the AN fitting to the intercooler hoping to bleed the air out of the system.

Dumb A_s mistake #2 I put the AN fitting in my mouth and SUCKed real hard :rofl2:

Dumb A_s mistake #3 It worked and I know have a stomach full of Redline Water Wetter

Dumb A_s mistake #4 I scramble to attach the AN fitting wile the pump shoots Distilled Water/Water Wetter all over the engine bay.

Dammit, now I feel sick as hell and resemble a Red Neck joke! My engine compartment is gonna smell real nice driving Grandma to the Doc tomorrow. Well it worked and I got the reservoir all topped off. Time to throw up :roflpuke2:....

.

MX52Z 07-09-2013 06:25 PM

Oops, sorry. Just realized I posted in your build thread instead of the Tampa one. :(

Have a good throw up.

ColdFire 07-09-2013 07:39 PM

Nice set of wheels i plan to buy those as my track wheels on semi-slick.

http://i1048.photobucket.com/albums/...psbaa35be4.jpg

18' 8.5/+35 Front , 10/+32 Back

What offset is your wheels so i can see if i would need spacers on those if i buy in the future.

Excellent built and choose on parts

Mr&Mrs 07-09-2013 08:01 PM

:icon17: Been there brother! Well I didnt drink water wetter but you know what I mean.

Mine rims are 20's and I don't have spacers on the front. It clears the brake caliper by 1/4 inch. The rear need 20mm spacers for stance, that photo there are no spacers on the car. I have to install the studs, planning to do it Thurs. I only have 15mm spacers in the garage for the rear but 20mm will give me the perfect stance. The rims are nice, they just don't have a name like Vossen. TV show "How Its Made" did a show on forged rims, when they got to the finishing stage the rims they were making were these Project D's from Lenso. I just don't like the cheap looking center caps..

Thank you for all the help. This Journal has turned out great. It is a "must read" for anyone with a Stillen S/C. I am looking forward to seeing your upcoming projects.

chpt11 07-14-2013 10:51 AM

MX52Z 07-14-2013 10:55 AM

That is too funny. Congrats! I think you would have done well in the sun anyway.

Nice, good job man.

Nut_N_Much 08-11-2013 03:28 PM

Update:

Its been a month since the SC install with COGs & 928 impeller, Return fuel system. So far so good, no issues except my ARF Guage is jumping all over. Under constant speed it settles at 14/14.5. I think were the bung was welded may have been a bad spot, also I should have drilled the hole for the bung then grind down the lip that would be exposed inside the exhaust. The excess bung may be causing the turbulence around the sensor.

I have not shredded any belts so far. The brace is keeping the SC from flexing to much under load. So far all is well. Plan on retuning this winter..

:tiphat:

Glokwork 08-11-2013 06:54 PM

Glad to hear shes running great man! My AFR jumps around at idle now also, 14.7-16.3. For months though it was always a perfect 14.7, not sure what is causing it.

Happened again, 3 times in one year.. This suck monkey nuts.... :shakes head:

Driver jumps out after driving 20 feet past my car after hitting it and say's "Sorry I was looking at my trailer" He didn't see the car with blinking tail lights stopped in the middle of the road.

I am glad we can't carry concealed weapons on base..

GaleForce 08-18-2013 08:01 PM

FFS :shakes head:

Not again!

Nut_N_Much 08-18-2013 08:14 PM

Thats why I don't have a body kit :shakes head:. As tight as that parking area is he had no business driving a Truck and Trailer in there. I had that gig SUV next to me so I used my camera, saw him and stopped. Didn't matter he was on a mission from God to destroy my car..

Sophie will get fixed in 9 days. I took the rental to the parking garage today and had some fun with it to blow off steam. Chevy Impala, damn I miss my car.

xxAGAVExx 08-18-2013 09:06 PM

Wow, sorry man

MX52Z 08-18-2013 09:27 PM
