No I think yours looked sweet:tiphat:, mine looked freakin awesome:happydance:... Haaaa..
Ya your right, they do look good side by side. The photos you have don't do that car justice. The details you built into the car are awesome; fading the paint into the carbon, the wrap, the interior, its not loud and obnoxious. Really refined and high quality. :tiphat: Really nice build. Hopefully in a month or so, I'll Carbon Fiber my interior to catch up with you, Kelly & Simota1.. Thinking about the Black/Orange Hybrid in a matte finish using a dark resin to smoke the orange:leghump:. That should tone down the orange some. Dark Graphite Body, Gun Metal Rims, Gun Metal Stillen Intake w/Harley Orange Letters. Steering wheel, Center console smoked orange matte carbon fiber hybrid. Black matte radio and cubby area with stereo plate Orange. Black matte doors with matte orange inserts and handles. Will look like a Harley Z.. I could do it in Red or Blue Hybrid Carbon Fiber but thats been done. Hey we do live in Florida:tup: its the right place for orange!!! Just sounds like a weird color when I say it loud.. Orange, Orange, yep its weird. I'll have to do a test piece before I commit to it.:wtf2: This Color: Not so bright it blinds you..Colored Carbon Fiber / Kevlar : Carbon Fiber Panels/Sheets, Fabric/Cloth, COLORED Carbon/Kevlar, Composite Envisions |

Well,
Thinking of putting some graphics on Sophie:icon14::happydance:.. Justin did this up for me tonight.. http://www.the370z.com/members/nut_n...702-370z-1.jpg |
You will not get positive feedback for this on here, but its your car do what makes you happy. I love those graphics he had them on a Ferrari at a big show middle of last year.
|
Not bad bro. I can live with it.... like you said you wanted a Harley Z!
Surely it will attract a lot of attention. |

I think that size looks good! If you do it to much smaller (just the rear quarter) it will look out of place.
On another note the guy at work that hydro dips says he can get a print with skulls on it. He is going to show them to me when he gets a chance. |

Also building the SC. Last night a stupid person pulled out in front :shakes head: of me coming home from the club meet! I had the SC in the back:icon14:... Well my Milwaukee Sub has a new component in it now!!! The most expensive Super Charged Subwoofer on the market:roflpuke2:.. |
:bowrofl: Sorry I have to work all week end or I would come out and help. Im off during the week next week though if you need anything.

Fender update
Holy crap :icon14: these things were way off. Door gap looks good, Hood gap is a little large, the headlight area the fender starts to rise :werd: above the fender by 2/16th inch, and the gap is more than a 1/4 of an inch down the hood and finder line.
I filed out the mounting holes, I will drill out the engine area holes to tighten the hood gap. The inside top doesn't sit flush so the head light mounting will be interesting. With the fender bolted on the fender is under constant stress.. Fun, fun, love a challenge.. Here are some pics.. http://www.the370z.com/members/nut_n...7-img-0620.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/nut_n...9-img-0622.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/nut_n...8-img-0625.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/nut_n...0-img-0626.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/nut_n...1-img-0627.jpg |
That top braket by the mirror I had to file/sand down to get the gap correct to the A-Pillar. You can also notch the top bracket out some more so it can slide farther back towards the door. Then you can bump the bottom two brackets forward to re-adjust the bottom gap.
The brackets for the hood line can be knocked up or down as well, or use washers. I like to beat things so I knock them up or down as needed. Make your 3 top holes (for the hood gap) a little big and in an oval shape so you can slide that puppy around where you need it. Did you have fun getting that square white clip out of the bottom of the factory fender? :rofl2: |
Also I think factory specs on the gap are right around an 1/8 inch so the bottom looks good, the top needs to come back some. As for the middle gap I have put four of these on now and due to the curve going into the vent it always seems to be a little bigger.

If i didnt have to work I would be over there right now helping. Robert is right on with his observations from what I can see right now.
|
Booooo work! :icon17: Lets tell them we have to go help Joe and walk out!

I just noticed something else that picture with the yellow clip. It does not go there! The headlight has a tab that slides into that spot. The yellow clip goes on the other side of that white bracket and the corner of the bumper attaches to it (it faces down towards the ground).
|
You guy's are crazy... Don't walk out, I'll have angry wives at my door . Worked on it some more.. The top can't adjust down, the FB Glass Mold is way off and cracking the more I try to push it in the right place.
The finder is staying on for now so I can work on it.. - Robert: The top door bracket, I think your right about filing it some and oval out the hole. That should allow some adjustment. - Those mounting tabs by the lights are crap, worried about braking it. I brake it and I'll have an excuse to get metal ones, colored match. Not quitting, just letting my back chill. So far I feel like re-drilling holes in new locations and using nylock nuts. I'm worried cuz if I loose it, I'll take a sledge hammer to it.. Rather tear and engine apart and rebuild it.. You guys that do this stuff a lot are awesome, mad respect for you!!! Here are some pics: You can see some cracking, that hole panel flars up, thats why the fenders high.. If I can get it adjusted I'll cut it off and re-glass at the right angle.. http://www.the370z.com/members/nut_n...4-img-0628.jpg Here is the gap at the light.. The hole fender is twisted, so it pushes into the light leaving a good size gap at the bottom. http://www.the370z.com/members/nut_n...3-img-0629.jpg Hood line is a little better.. http://www.the370z.com/members/nut_n...5-img-0631.jpg Door jams are good, side skirt is a cluster F_ _k up front will tighten and drill my own holes! http://www.the370z.com/members/nut_n...6-img-0630.jpg :happydance::happydance::happydance: 1/3 Done :bowrofl: |
Just so you know for my headlights I drilled one hole in the top where they mount onto the fender and just put a push clip in it (like the ones in the fender liner and such), that is plenty secure. The screw on top of the radiator and the one underneath are the main ones. Read my post above this one in case you missed it, that could be why the headlight wont go back more.

2nd day fenders
Okay, the passenger side fit much better. Went on in 10 mins. A little filing and some washers and shes as close as my skill level can get.
Some pics of passenger side: http://www.the370z.com/members/nut_n...7-img-0644.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/nut_n...8-img-0642.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/nut_n...9-img-0641.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/nut_n...0-img-0643.jpg I am still having trouble with the driver side. This fiber glass seems to be crap and is braking apart under any pressure. If you have the time save up and bye a high quality kit. You will enjoy it much more and so will your bodywork shop.. :tiphat: |
Problem is the same company makes all these different fenders. I also find it funny in my recent searching that the driver side has been the problem for most people.
When you get the wheel well back in the gap by the light pretty much goes away because light cant come thru the back of it. |
That's good to know. I'm debating whether or not to leave them on for a while to see if that Drivers side cracks or not. I still haven't herd back from Martin at ZFever for the Dyno :driving: time but should be soon. I can take them off while installing the Stillen Kit.
I don't want to do a butt load of work and spend more money and have them crack like so many others. :wtf2: |
that turbo is looking pretty sick! so are those fenders! We need a tampa meet up soon :)
|
Better do it while im on day shift so I can make it even if I have to work the next day!
