Wiggins3377's 40th Anniversary Z
Dropped by the shop to throw the air struts back on. Finally able to get an "idea" of how she'll sit when she's all done. Also able to determine how much wider the fronts need to be.

How are they widening the fronts? Add on flare or cut and reshape?

Cutting commenced. This is currently 1" wider. I think it needs another .5" to 1"

Very nice Mr. Wiggins. What camber specs are you gonna run to tuck those beautiful wheels?

The plan is to bring it back to OEM camber whether that means they tuck or not I really don't care. Drivability is the goal |
I dropped back by the shop yesterday to check out the wider front fender mock-ups in person. 1" wasn't enough, so we landed on 1.75" wider up front.
After see the car in person I had some concerns about the leading edge and the arch of the fender/ bumper. Because the plan was to add 1.75" in width all the way down that meant that the leading edge would have to drop about 1.75" as well (i.e. the peak of the wheel well arch would sit about 1.75" closer to the ground than OEM). I wasn't ok with that so we talked for awhile about additional options. The fix will be to add 1.75" at the peak, however as you continue down the fender and into the bumper it will taper in very close to OEM width. Once this is done and the angle of the fender is pushed out some the arch of the wheel well remain oem. Ive attached new mock-ups. What this does mean is that the bottom of the front wheels/ tires will technically poke past the bumper line. But I'm ok with that. |
