Thank you! Since I worked too much overtime this week, my boss called me last night saying I can't come into work today...so now I'm impatiently waiting for FedEx to arrive with my wheels. Pictures to be posted soon!

98intrigue 09-28-2012 08:39 PM

So FedEx came today at 12:15pm when I was out to lunch :( I got home around 1:30pm and started cleaning my front yard....at around 5pm, I hear a truck. I turned around and saw this big white truck! It was FedEx making a second attempt on the same day??? I've never liked FedEx so much.

I couldn't have SP3s, but I stuck to the 10-spoke style.

That's scary. I've read nothing but great reviews about Modulare Forged...hopefully I'll have better luck than that. I tried picking a wheel that resembled the SP3...well, at least it's a 10-spoke.

Belanger Headers arrived today:)

Don't need a primary if I'm running open headers:stirthepot:

98intrigue 10-09-2012 07:45 PM

I dropped off the headers yesterday and got to "see" my car for the first time since July 30th. It still looked kind of cool even though it's under the knife.

Chris Nelson of Nelson Competition called me yesterday. The completion date was pushed back again....aiming for completed assembly by the end of this week. Then install and finish everything up next week. It's getting CLOSE to my deadline since I'm registered for a boutique Fesitvals of Speed show in Orlando October 21. I still have to install the wheels and do paint correction before that. I'll be busy next week:icon08:

Another week has gone by and still no car...

3 weeks ago, they said the motor should have been complete by October 5th. Then I was told October 9th. Then I was told by the end of last week. Apparently, they ran into an issue with the crank and it had to be sent back to the machine shop. The motor is being assembled now, but it doesn't look like I'll have it back in time for Festivals of Speed this weekend. Not happy!

O&G 10-16-2012 05:34 PM

build your next car in Texas! Good luck buddy, your do for a break!

I talked to RSI for a good bit. I would have sent them my car had the motor not already been pulled out of my car.

I want to see more videos of your car!:driving:

Mr&Mrs 10-17-2012 01:49 AM

Man im sad your going to miss having your car in the show. Hope she gets back together soon!

98intrigue 10-24-2012 09:20 AM

I received the invoice yesterday and the motor is ready to be picked up! I will HOPEFULLY have it back Saturday!

Not only am I not being compensated for the multiple deadlines being past and me missing a big show, but I'm being charged for shipping? Funny seeing that the motor is being picked up since it's only 2 hours away.

It better be there if they're charging you shipping and it's 2 hours away!

I called and found out they invoice on a separate line for total shipping charges of the items purchased, rather than the shipping charges being included on each line item.

The motor was picked up yesterday afternoon. I bought some Woodhouse Dodge polyurethane motor mounts and transmission mount and had them overnighted for delivery today. :happydance:

98intrigue 10-26-2012 12:26 PM

"Do you want me to reuse this ragged *** clutch?"

Ughh... new clutch ordered. What else do they want to throw at me? Why did I just pay to overnight the motor mounts if I have to wait until Tuesday to get the clutch?

98intrigue 10-31-2012 06:41 PM

Today marks exactly 4 months since my motor woukdn't crank.

Motor mounts arrived Friday. Clutch arrived Monday. Motor was dropped in today. Just waiting on exhaust manifold gaskets for my new headers, which will be installed tomorrow. ALMOST there!

Thread is epic... beautiful Z build. And to see you hop into a Viper next seems like you really love power hahahhaaha

98intrigue 11-01-2012 02:46 PM

Well, another bummer! My Belanger headers won't mate up to my exhaust, so he's putting the OEM manifolds back on. I'll have to take it to my exhaust guy who did my Z when he gets back from SEMA to fab me up an exhaust.

Thanks. Out of the blue, my dad told me at breakfast on Saturday that my Z was beautiful. Odd, but flattering comment...especially from my dad.

And yes, I <3 speed and power. :driving:

Just read through your build (awesome). It sounds like you and I have the same kind of luck, although I haven't smoked a motor...yet....

98intrigue 11-01-2012 09:01 PM

I got the word...picking up the car tomorrow!!! Hoping to leave work early so I can have time to put the wheels on, adjust the KWs, give it a quick wash, and then go for a cruise before a Cars and Coffee meet Saturday morning.
