Thanks! I put the new IForged wheels on last week...I like them MUCH better than the Vossens.

Yep. Vossens looked kinda bad

I've been checking into this forum more often lately and figured I'd post pictures of my newer (to me) Viper. I sold my black '06 coupe and picked up an '03 vert in July. I sold my black car for 2 reasons: it made 100whp less than I expected it to and I bought a house. I was able to put some money into my house AND lower my car payment. Win/Win. This is the first time I've ever bought a car already modified, but I've done some things to make it my own.

When I bought the car, it had an APR carbon fiber rear wing installed. I removed it a week after buying the car...just not the look for me. I also touched up the scrapes at the bottom of the front bumper and shaved the rear bumper emblems. Oh yeah, I removed the tow hook too.

During the same week, I replaced every light in the car with white LEDs (gauges/map/footwell/license plate/reverse lights) and also put in 6K bulbs for the DRLs, fogs, and projectors. At the same time, I painted the gauge rings to match the color of the car and replaced the shift knob. I did the same mods to my previous Viper and it made a huge difference with updating the interior.

About a month ago, I sold the 19"/20" iForged Aeros that came on the car and put on the 18"/19" Forgelines with drag radials so I can finally get traction. While the wheels were off, I painted the e-brake calipers black and paint matched the calipers and applied the black Viper lettering (calipers were previously red with no lettering). Since then, I've been adjusting the coilovers to get the ride height to my liking. The front tires are now tucking and the rears are maxed out. I also added a front bumper emblem to try to take away a bit of the Jay Leno chin look the car has with the Hennessey bumper. I think I finally have the car where I want it to be.

The car has an extensive mod list:
  • HOK Tangelo paint job
  • Hennessey front bumper
  • Coupe rear end conversion
  • Custom Gen 3 to Gen 4 hood
  • Penske coilovers
  • 18"x11" & 19"x13" Forgeline ZX3 wheels
  • 295/35/18 Nitto NT05 and 345/30/19 Nitto NT05R tires
  • Polished Paxton supercharger
  • Polished strut bar and timing cover
  • PC'ed valve covers
  • Built heads
  • American Racing headers
  • Mopar exhaust
  • MGW short shifter and knob
  • LED lighting conversion
  • Inner gauge rings and calipers paint matched

It sure is. Before replacing the wheels/tires, the car would spin all through 1st and 2nd and partially in 3rd gear. I LOVE the lines of the coupe and find the rear of the vert somewhat bland. The coupe rear end conversion, among other things, is what sold me on this car. Plus, this time of year in Florida is perfect convertible weather in my opinion.

Thanks! I wish I had a scale to measure the wheels, but the Forgelines are a lot lighter than the iForgeds were.

The wheels have gotten a few mixed emotions, but everyone else seems to appreciate the changes I've made. I changed the wheels out for more function, but also thought the chrome/black with the orange clashed.

Actually, he had a really cool z build and some of us like seeing other cars. If you don't like it, don't read it. Don't **** up someone's build thread.

I agree here with Chuck.

Just because you've moved on to another car doesn't mean you should leave the friends you've met here for years.

We should try to be a little more receptive, The Z is not the only car on the road.

I hope that makes sense so please move on if you don't agree with Op's current Viper.

Thank You. :ugh2:

this is a car forum..... for car lovers in general, it's just that it focuses on the 370 but does not exclude others.

Thanks for having my back, guys! I didn't bat an eye when the Viper club had a weekend getaway at Tail of the Dragon, but would love to make it up to Zdayz with my Viper.

Ryan has had a turbo G, a turbo Z, and two vipers. his combined HP thus far allows him to post wherever he wants.

Not to mention I have a G35 as a daily. But thanks for reminding me that my first fast car was also the most reliable. 63k-113k miles of beating the **** out of my turbo G35 and over 100+ drag passes.

98intrigue 02-10-2015 03:22 PM

I still check into this site a couple times a week, but mainly lurk in the shadows. With Zdayz fast approaching, I'm seriously contemplating either bringing my daily G35 coupe just to party with everyone or drive the Viper to enjoy the beautiful roads.

I just put on my 3rd set of wheels for this car and have only had it for just over 6 months...I know I have a problem :) The new wheels totally changed the look of the car and I love the way it turned out! They are 18"x10.5" and 19"x13" 360Forged wheels. They are a completely custom 1 of 1 design modeled after the HREs put on the Gas Monkey Garage Ferrari F40. They are matte black barrels/centers, stepped lip, and have etched SRT logos that are paint matched.

I also went to the drag strip a few weeks ago after redynoing my car and making just a tad over 700rwhp:driving: I'm finally part of the 10-second club! :tiphat:

roplusbee reminded me that I didn't update my journal when I got a new car...so here we go!

My Gen 3 Viper was fast, unique, and a lot of fun...but the want was strong for a newer Viper. The more I saw it, the more I wanted it. Within 3 weeks of listing my Gen 3 for sale, it was sold and my search was on for a Gen V Viper. I searched relentlessly for about a month before I came across the one for me. What color would I be happy with after having a beautiful HOK Tangelo painted car? Well, I'm happy to say I'm now the owner of a 2014 Orange TA #25 of 93!

The question was how do I get the car home from Idaho where the previous owner lived? I've done road trips from Austin to Tampa and from Baltimore to Tampa in a couple Gen 2 Vipers over the last few years when my friend bought them. Ever since then, I've always wanted to do my own...what better time than now? My parents recently retired and were planning on moving out of state, so this was a great opportunity for my dad and I to spend some quality time together before he left. He was just as excited as I was to make the drive.

Ironically enough, an Edmunds.com journalist was doing a cross-country road trip in a Gen V Viper and passed my car in downtown Nashville. Through the power of Instagram, we exchanged information and my trip ended up being featured by Edmunds. A great way for my dad and I to remember the trip!
Two Vipers Meet In Nashville - 2015 Dodge Viper GT Long-Term Road Test

The 2500+ mile road trip went like this:
Day 1: Pocatello, ID to Denver, CO
Day 2: Denver, CO to Kansas City, MO
Day 3: Kansas City, MO to Chattanooga, TN
Day 4: Chattanooga, TN to Clearwater, FL

My dad and I on my 15th birthday (don't laugh at me, haha) and just myself on my 30th birthday (8 days before I picked up the TA).

If you've read this far, than you deserve to know that I'm selling my TA. I have this weird infatuation with wanting to be unique...and there are now 3 Orange TAs within 20 miles of me. One of them hangs within the same circle I do, so that's part of the motivation to sell it. The other part is I really want to do a Stryker Green Viper or a Stryker Purple Viper... and when I want something, I obsess over it until I get it done. Don't get me wrong...I love my TA! But once you lookup Stryker Green and Stryker Purple, you'll understand :yum:

Loved the Z build when u had it. I also have a 40th anniv, best 370 package to date.
And the SNAKES are a beast... Congrats on the new one. Love the color combo.

Had a question on your suspension and wheel fitment for the Z. I just picked up a set of 20x10 +30 f and 20x12 +20 R. Was thinking of running a 275 front. Did you have any issues? Rubbing, camber, etc. I have stance SS+ coils. Was going to keep the factory front A-arms and not switch to camber arms. Did you find a need to run off camber settings to Make them work?

Good luck with the new toy!!! She's a beast!!!

Haha, I know... But I have an opportunity to make a tiny bit on it and I've only had it for 3 months. But to be fair, I originally made a couple offers on Stryker Green cars before I got my TA.

Thank you very much! You'll be fine with those sizes. My fronts would only rub when I hit big bumps/dips in the road and I ran a 19x10 +30 I believe. I had camber arms and toe bolts in the rear and didn't touch the front suspension. I was happy with the camber in the front and never found it necessary to change it.
