i'm just curious... now that you've towed with the Cayenne a bit more, what do you think of it compared to the full size SUV's you were using before?

Its NA. Just plan on taking it to Zdayz and driving it to work once or twice a month when the weather is nice.

It tows MUCH better than either the expedition or tahoe. Going up and over hills on the highway with the cruise set to 82mph, you barely even notice it downshifting to 7th gear and it just hold the speed rock steady. Diesel FTW! I've got 6 9 hour plus days towing with it, plus a couple 7 hour days and you never feel tired at the end of the day.

Very nice. Nissan is looking to put Cummins diesels in the next Titan for sure and possibly the Frontier as well (it would make sense if you are going to invest in diesel training to do it for more than one vehicle). Depending on the price of both and how they turn out in reliability and cost of ownership, one of those two may end up being a replacement for the StormFront in the future. I know what you mean about the comfort, too. My GXP is very comfortable and makes for a great road trip car, the primary function of it for me.

Side note: it's funny how many people I've met in the GM crowd down in ATL that know who you are or have already done business with you.

Do they have a good life or break all the time like some German cars?

^ There's nothing wrong with German cars, no more so than any car. Cars are way too complicated to hope for perfection, but some are better-engineered than others.

Nice looking Z31! Wasn't a huge fan of them until the trip to Japan last fall... Now I want one. :)

Other than the radio randomly going to full volume for no reason 3 different times, we've had no problems in the first 23000 miles.

Also, aside from the fuel pump in my wife's Z4 going out right after we got it, it too has been trouble free for 4 years now.

transmission went out at Daytona. after 1/2 a lap, the car wouldn't downshift. Sometimes it would grind and sometimes it just wouldn't go into gear. felt like I was moving the shift lever up against a brick wall. It had been grinding in 4th for the last several events, and getting a little worse, so its off to Z1 for a new transmission. Apparently, Nissan is on Rev. 9 on the trans with better syncros and stuff and I have a Rev 1. The one I'm getting is out of a 12 or 13 nismo with only around 2500 miles on it.

sucks to hear man, but on the Brightside, your new trans should be better (rev 9) than the old one. And on a selfish note, that must mean our nismo has the newest improved trans as well so that's good info to find out. :)

Do it in stages like me. Front first. Then the rear. ;)
