Thanks!
Did an oil change today, swapped out to Valvoline VR1 race oil, since I can pick it up locally instead of ordering online. Also flushed the brake fluid and moved the trunk opener out to the license plate area. Already had a hole drilled from the cabin from when I had my laser shifters installed.

Secured the door pulls and relocated trunk release outside of car. Using zip ties for handles, for now.
Bought some little rubberized clamps from Lowe's, powdercoated them satin black and used factory holes for anchors: anchored this one down inside and have it just sticking out the back license plate hole. I was going to have it on the inside, right behind my drivers seat, but with the wing, it requires pulling on it while simultaneously lifting the hatch, and the car doesn't lock anymore anyways.

Mike, do you have any advice or tips on how to go about removing the electric locks from the car?
I can't find a safe way to unlock and open the door in one pull so I'm going to remove the lockers. |

I don't recall it being too hard. The drivers side was a little difficult, had to unbolt the lock mechanism and the door handle to remove the cables connecting them. the passenger side was just the lock mechanism, then I cut all the wires going into the door and removed them. Didn't do anything with the trunk mechanism, but it doesn't work now because of the wire removal in the drivers door.

Cool was able to remove the locking mechanism and handle. Gave me a great excuse to use my new cordless impact.
Can I ask why you cut the harness instead of just unhooking it from the car (big connector on the side inside the hinge area) and pulling it out? Also took out the dampener and removed the cable spool and supporting hardware. Used a cabling ferrule to permanently attach the two cables. Good pound there. I'll post completed photos to my build thread if you wanna see how I did the linkages and whatnot. Prolly tomorrow or Wednesday I'll finish. . |

How to you unplug this harness? I've looked at for awhile and can't figure it out. It's different from your typical harness. Must come unplugged fron the iside of the cab.

I didn't look far enough in to see the harness, just took the easy route with wire cutters.

Note that after you do this, you need to seal the hole to keep water out. If you still have your dash out, just remove the matching connector from the inside of the car and tape over the hole. |

I thought that had something to do with it.
The first time I couldn't get the harness to release from the inside for it had no clip lock to release and pull from. Thanks, repped.

Cool. Just can't stress enough tho, don't leave that hole open. Water will get on live contacts inside the connector, or if you remove it, directly down into your fuse box or onto your ECU/BCM depending on which side of the car you're talking about.

I have this stuff called aqua seal we use at work. Works great for this. Then I'll seal it up with a small bracket. I have sevaral holes to covor know with the heater core gone.
