Update 29 March 2014 ; Sorry there is some post that are missing pictures because Im running out of space and I removed the less important ones or the very old one ..
Its been a long time that I was thinking to show my Z progession on this forum. I think, this is the time ! I first bought my 370z on 1st December 2009 , I was able to get a good deal since the 2010 was already out ! I didnt bother with the sport model and I went with the Base model + Nav. Here is Canada our base model is the equivalent of the Touring in the US. This is one of the first picture ! The first winter with the new Z was the most expensive ! then the second year was more focused on NA power mod ! Im not gonna name everything that I did but with the picture below it will show the most important mod being done and dated. my early focus in 2012 was to finaly get some aero which started with a DIY front splitter made of a 10mm Alumacoor sheet , I was unable to get Alumalite at a fair price . and then I found the first wing I wanted for the 370z . The kognition wing that MikeBonanni had. I almost went with the APR Gtc300 from Scott @ FontanaNissan which had the best deal on here !! but I couldnt let go of the Kognition. Im gonna describe some of the custom mods that I did since the beginning. I first started at 256whp on a cold day fully stock on a dynapack @ SG-Motorsport.com which are now closed and finished at 324whp in November in about the same weather as what it was on my first baseline. The CAI was made by Rawtek Inc. in Montreal,Canada start at 3'' at the filter then the reducer goes down to 63.5mm for the MAF then back up to 2 3/4'' to the Throttlebody. Then later on I bored out both of my Throttle body to 62.5mm from 60mm Stock. *almost finished TB* I also did a copy myself of the M370 from Motordyne . Since I had an HR engine as a spare from my old 2007 350z that I didnt longer had. I used the HR intake manifold and started to modify it like Motordyne did and did my best to port mach the lower intake All of the picture can be found in my Album Then the next step is the Header !! I first started in 2009/2010 with the Stillen Header and Berk HFC then went with the new PPE Long step headers Let me tell you guys that the DIY install was a pain in the A$$ !!!! it took me about a week to have it done. If it wouldnt have been because of that damn rounded nut , It could have took about 8-10hours in total ! but ended to around 24 ! Everything was done in my parking lot at the time during my vacation !!! I was piss and missed my dyno appointement. I finaly used a flexible dremel extension and partialy cut the nut. !!! oh and good luck if you 6MT guy want to do it yourself ! I had to remove a bracket that is use for your cluth oil line. , the header didnt want to go in , it had to be removed. the next step after my PPE is a custom X-pipe , again made by Rawtek Inc in Montreal, Canada they did a very good job on everything up to now and I even plan to have my next single exhaust made by them from my specification. they also did my custom prototype muffler that was allowing me to meet the noise decibel requirement with flying color !! I have many video on Youtube that can be watched here Plan for 2012 is gonna be a bit limited to about 6-7 track days and 3 Time attack of CSCS.ca at Cayuga,Ontario. The fact that you are standing on that splitter means its truly strong and functional!

To day I send 2 hours on the dyno to test 2 mods that I did in 2011.
Normaly I always do a dyno session after any power mod but since last year I was plaged with the ECU pulling timing and not knowing it untill I blew the tranny on the drag strip. The flywheel was badly cracked, which we think it was affecting the knock sensor to not be happy thus pulling timing ! It was difficult to have much of any consistense pull after pull but since the flywheel got replaced, I do not have any problem with that ! Soo today was to confirm 2 mods. 1= HR vs VHR intake manifold (you can see my picture when I did the conversion) - 2= Throttle Body OEM stock @ 60mm VS bored at 62.5mm The AFR were ajusted before the recording pull. |

First track day in 2012 since my last one around August 2011.
Im getting ready for the first CSCS.ca event on June 3rd which mean I had to give a good shakedown to my new setup ! Ofcourse the car had some problems - loose front holding bolt on the Diff (I swaped another diff 2 weeks ago) - Engine Oil overheating (even with a 11''x11'' oil cooler I hit 135 Celcius !!!) - some slapping noise during a turn (I discovered my exhaust is hitting the rear useless V bar ) because I snaped one of the bolt on the left side exhaust bracket last week , it didnt make any noise untill I hit the track ! so there we go with the Video ! |
