today was the day that I removed the engine/tranny! I had to stop because I do not have the special socket to remove those bolt on the Lower cylinder block.

I had to stop because I do not have the special socket to remove those bolt on the Lower cylinder block. it seem like an inverted Tork bolt. there is quite a few picture for those interessted . Tomorrow I will try to find the needed socket to go deeper in the engine ! |

I made 2 other threads in the Engine & Drivetrain about
More details on the blown VVEL engine on every page as more pictures was added Blown VVEL !!! and some finding on the 7AT Flex wheel (type of flywheel) 7AT Owner , look at this ! there has been quite a few possible projects, each of them were quite interessting. - LSx - VK56 - VQ35hr long rod engine - OEM Vq35HR (7500rpm rev limit ! ) swap and keep the blown engine to rebuilt it later on with the proper mods I got quite a few parts priced at, such as those nice big cam 310dur 13.7mm of lift drysump which wasnt too too expensive after all, but quite over of my current budget. the logical path that I think I should take would only get that ViPec V88 ECU and install only my spare HR engine as it is. (but slightly modified with baffled oil pan and some engine tweaking.) my budget cant afford that 15k $ I need to get everything ready by June 2013. then my idea is in 2014, where everything happens. Uprev is good up to a certain point and Ive been shown and explained why. Even me having only an N/A engine setup it teached me that Uprev is soo basic that it isnt as good as people thinks. But its the only plug-in software that can easily be tuned on the 370z. |

It seems to me that putting a VQ35 engine would be a 'downgrade' for the 370z . . . The VQ37VHR is more advanced/powerful and was designed for the 370z (and G37) chassis, yea ? . . The VK56 V8 in the car would be along the lines of building a race car or drift car: very cool ~ ~ 55

but knowing where my project is going, the HR head is the way to go. Actualy it will be an VQ37HR minus the V which is the VVEL setup. but mind you if you can spare the $$ for an VK56 , let me know ! I will be glad to do it. My budget doesnt allow me to send the engine block which had the blown VVEL & oil pump to a machinst and have everything done to it. so I took my spare HR engine.I am in the process to stroke it to 3.7 from the VHR crank ,VHR connecting rod and HR piston. Big cam and custom piston is later in 2013. |

quick update !
I just finish installing every HR pistons with the VHR crank/connecting rod. that wasnt very easy to do !!! there is 2 spots on the HR piston that need to be modified due to clearance. It took about 8 hours only to deal with those HR pistons and comparing with the VHR piston. 1 step closer for an VQ37HR !! |

I was reading into our USER CP.
I found this nice comment from someone who repped me Quote; '' dude, I don't know how you don't have more rep since you're rebuilding your own engine. sorry to see what happened but mad props for where you're going! '' Thank you very much for that kind of msg unfortunatly I dont do any threads on this forum to be repped and I dont expect anyone to do it,,, because I see quite a few peoples with a very high rep rating but they arent really deserving it.... Ive only been doing a very few major thread and diy on here and they quickly died. my blown VVEL head during a Time Attack Blown VVEL !!! showing 7AT owner about a very serious problem that many to this day discovered which also made me losing 30whp since it was making the knock sensor unhappy! *pulling timing* 7AT Owner , look at this ! I know I have a DIY splitter album but im not sure if I actualy start a thread or talked about this Nissan 370Z Forum - Megan370z's Album: DIY Custom Splitter somewhat showing how to modify a 350z HR intake manifold to swap it on the VQ37vhr DIY 350zHR Intake Swap custom CAI & MAF my new custom CAI and MAF PPE long tube headers install PPE header DIY Stillen headers/HFC DIY , Stillen Header with Berk HFC again,. Thank You. |

I wouldnt put too much emphasis on the reputation or like button on here. You can tell who really contributes to the site, no matter how they contribute. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2 |

I wasn't saying it was bad for performance I was saying it looked ridiculous. A flying T-Rex may be effective, but it sure would look ridiculous.

Any pics of the block with the HR pistons installed?
Do the HR pistons have a shorter piston height? (hard to tell from the pics but it kinda looks that way) If so, what do you think the overall CR would be? nice work btw
